Hi all,

I've had to delay pre-registering for Otakon due to work/fiances planning issues, but was wondering if there are still likely opportunities to gofer this Otakon - its my fifth year in a row going to Otakon and I would really like to try being a gofer this year. I'm not sure if there's a set number of people they take or if its first-come first served opportunity. Just wondering whether or not it is a little late at this point.

You should be fine. Last I read we had room for more gofers.

Yes there is still room. Please make sure to fill out the Otakon pre-reg and Gofer pre-reg forms completely.

Wow, this is my first time on the Otakon bbs since...2005 apparently. I'm amazed I was able to guess my username and password on the first try, let alone that it worked.

Anyways, I think I too will try my hand at gofering this year. I'm up for anything in general, but are there tech-related gofering positions, or is tech only handled by staff? Just curious.

So I just filled out my paperwork to be a gofer about two weeks ago . . . and I haven't gotten any response back. For those that have been gofers before, how long does the response take and what kind of information will I be getting?

I think the most technical thing we're allowed to do is pushing "play" and "stop" for videos?

takes a few weeks...I never paid attention to how long it takes for them to respond honestly...^^; rest assured that they usually go through them more often when it's closer to the deadline...

The response they send back is usually something along the lines of "You've been accepted as a Gofer-- check to make sure the info we have for you is correct. Welcome aboard!"

Granted that's if they're not doing something new this year....(which they actually might be considering that they were trying to do something new last year....)

My apologies. My husband's mother died last weekend after a long illness, and it has delayed a lot of what we were doing.

I had planned on sending out the notes last weekend, but we didn't do a whole lot of anything, as you might understand.

I will have the responses sent out this week.
