But either (or both!) would be amazing. They've done 2 or Naruto themes, three if you count Lie-Lie-Lie by DJ Ozma (who's also Show Ayanocozey's, the leader of the group Kishidan, alter-ego)
and Fujisawa ... GTO is just too memorable for me. It's my favorite series both manga and anime-wise, so if he were to come...
(He did do a mini-arc type thing for it last year I believe, with Shonan 14 Days..)

So, Tacking that on to my lengthy list of english VA requests from page 1.
Speaking of my Lengthy List: I'm adding Eric Vale (Is it just my bad math skills & Lack of Caffeine or is it not interfering with his Anniversary this Year?) Jason Liebrecht (I've been Obsessed with Black Cat lately) and Travis Willingham since he backed out of AUSA.
I think That's all for now.

SO for some requests, how about some Kpop bands! *wishful thinking*
Bands:
The impossible-but-still-wish-for-anyways groups: SNSD, Super Junior, 2ne1(although since they just won Best New Band in the World from mtv, YG might be more relenting to american shows.), TVXQ, Big Bang, 2pm
SLightly less impossible: U-Kiss (some of their members are from America, Eli is actually from Virginia), Miss A, KARA, AA, B1A4, Boyfriend, T-ara,
Solo artists/ Actors: Park Shin Hye, Kim Hyun Joong, Lee Minho, Kim Soohyun
Although I doubt any of these will actually happen, I'm just throwing ideas out there. Honestly, if any Kpop band came I would be forever happy.
Thanks! Alison

We have Korean bands in our sights, but to be frank, the ones we would be interested in are focused on the Asian market, which is very lucrative for them. When they have a stadium full of fans paying $300 to get in, there is no way to compete effectively.
That's what I was afraid of. The companies are aren't very lenient to tours as far out as America, some groups have just performed shows in Paris and London and that was a huge leap for and Korean band.
Ahh, well, one can always hope. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised during these next few months.

I'd like to second Kugimiya Rie though. She's so iconic as Shana/Taiga/Aria etc. I'd die happy to see her do her characters' voices. It'd be bizarre and awesome all at once.

Terasoma Masaki. He doesn't do lead roles usually, or A LOT of anime, but he does some popular stuff (hidan in Naruto, for example) and also does theater and did some kamen rider and is an awesome oyaji seiyuu
And I don't remember if I mentioned her, but Matsumoto Temari would absolutely make my day. She's the mangaka for Kyou Kara Maou, a handful of yaoi titles, a lot of novel illustrations, and recently, she put out a shoujou called Cubism Love.

TGWTG is pretty cool groupwise, but they don't exact tie into Otakon's mission statement. They're more general geekery and notsomuch Asian culture.

You're missing the point here. While it's true the TGWTG is a great site (and I can see them running panels at the con), they're not the type of people that Otakon is looking for in terms of "guests".then maybe we could request the anime reviewers of the site. off the top of my head there's; JesuOtaku, Suede, MarzGurl, Y Ruler of Time and Rollo T (both Y and Rollo host an anime/manga Podcast). members of Team Four Star, such as Masako X, also contribute their own anime reviews

People we don't typically invite as guests: people who are known for their blogs, fanfics, podcasts, or youtube videos
Not that there's anything wrong with thinking bloggers, etc. are kind of awesome, but even when they are relevant to our mission, people who talk about art are not as cool as people who make it. Many of them come on their own, many of them come as panelists.

Although I agree that most of the TGWTG doesn't, JewWario reviews imports from Japan that Americans can play without much difficulty. I'm not sure exactly what Psychotaku and Psychoneko do, but I think he'd be perfect.

The overarching point which I alluded to and Alabaster further explained is, bloggers/online personalities such as this aren't what Otakon looks for in terms of guests. As Jim pointed out, personalities of this caliber typically can apply to run a panel and come on their own volition. The anime basics segment you describe certainly sounds like a panel topic.

You are of course free to do that -- but there is no guarantee that he'd get a panel approved. It's a fiercely competitive field of panelists.
