  2. If you drove there, where did you park and was it cheaper/free? 👀
  3. Every frame was filled with unexpected surprises and hilarious moments, making it a joy to watch from start to finish. The animation style was top-notch, with smooth transitions and attention to detail that brought the game world to life in a way that felt immersive and exciting. If you're a fan of wild and wacky animations that leave you grinning from ear to ear, I highly recommend checking out this promo! You can watch it for yourself at this link https://www.vpesports.cоm/when-does-the-rocket-league-championship-series-2024-start. Trust me, it's an experience you won't want to miss!
  4. I don't recall any parking discounts when we were in Baltimore. More that you were guaranteed a space in the lot, and they would fold the daily parking charges into your bill.
  5. I've stayed at the Marquis every year and while we never parked there, our friends who did never received a parking discount. It was always $50/night valet parking only costing them $200 in parking for the weekend. If Otakon could work out a deal for members staying that would be lovely! I know some hotels (Marquis included) do have benefits for members such as free internet, food discounts, etc.
  6. Last year I stayed at the Comfort Inn and got parking passes that reduced my parking down to like $40 for the weekend (if I remember correct). I'm staying at the Moxy this year and I called the hotel to check the rates for parking at it was about $60/night??? What are the odds that Otakon members get discounts for parking if we booked through the hotel block?
  7. Animated promos for video games can indeed get pretty wacky and creative! They often showcase the unique style and tone of the game while grabbing the viewer's attention. It's always fun to see developers take creative risks in their promotional materials.

  9. Can you please bring Justb back to otakon? They did amazing last year and I would love to see them!

  11. What an incredibly huge loss! I never got into his works, but know that so many people must be feeling his passing. Saw a minute or so video about him on Youtube, titled "15 famous celebrities who died today 17th March 2024" by the Youtube channel: Hollywood Culture. (I don't know why they put "died today" and "March 17th"). The timestamp for Akira is around 8:56. In the same video, at around timestamp 8:02, they had a short video about Tarako, a Japanese voice actress for Inuyasha, Castle in the Sky and other things.
  12. AMV THEATER INFO AMV Theater is back in Room 202 (same awesome place as the previous 2 years). AMV Theater will be running all convention-weekend as-normal. Likely 9AM-1:30AM Friday/Saturday, 9AM-4PM Sunday. New info will be added here as it is finalized. ----------------------- SUBMIT AN AMV-RELATED PANEL If you're interested in submitting a panel for Otakon 2024's AMV Theater, you should register through the "normal" Otakon means here: https://www.otakon.com/activities/panels/ The descriptions are a little dated so the years are wrong, but the rest of the informatio
  13. I would love to see some rising male seiyuu talent!! Particularly: Kouhei Amasaki (Ensemble Stars, Idolmaster SideM, Hypnosis Mic, Fire Emblem Engage, Re:Zero, My Hero Academia) Kentaro Kumagai (Delicious in Dungeon, Idolmaster SideM, God of High School) Takuma Nagatsuka (My Hero Academia, Idolmaster SideM, Pokémon) Takeo Otsuka (Oshi no Ko, Idolmaster SideM, Apothecary Diaries, Beastars) Thank you for your consideration!!
  14. Hi y'all, I'm the leader of the DC chapter of TOOOL; we teach ethical lock picking as a way to make people more conscious of physical security and also for the more fun aspects—locks are puzzles, we hope that wider lock picking education leads to better portrayal in media, and we hope to make lock picking a little less mysterious and nefarious-seeming. \We were a workshop last year. While I appreciated the opportunity, we were not a good fit. We don't scale above a certain point—we were only able to teach 180 people (and it was rushed). TOOOL typically sets up in an area
  15. Trolls will always be around no matter the fandom. I would kind of like it to happen, too.
  16. I think it's a fine idea, but back in (...checks old forum posts...) 2019 they had a set of large sheets on the plateau in front of video games area where people were encouraged to write positive messages for... something. (My post said it was Kyo Ani?, though I don't recall what it was about.) Back to my point: despite the good intentions, there were the inevitable jackass messages written on there, along with pictures that reflect this juvenile mindset. (I swear the odds of that happening reach 100% the more people are involved, no matter what the circumstances.) One of the spots in tha
  17. I would think you get into liability issues if you start putting down cigarettes or adult magazines in a place where kids could get to them. The other stuff seems safe.
  18. 😭 Even this new generation of anime and manga fans are feeling this incredible lost. RIP
  19. not sure, but they are opening up applications for the artist alley. So I'm sure pannel submissions will open soon. Probably somewhere by march or April, May is too late XP.
  20. As you guys know, Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, as well as the artist for a plethera of other things, such as being an artist for the dragon quest series, has recently passed away. And with this passing I had the idea that maybe we can make a mini shrine for him. Here's how the idea goes: - In a visible, yet spacious corner, we have a blank poster saying "Thank you Akira Toriyama, Fly High" with a picture of goku. Hopefully either i or other staff can get more papers so others can draw on the thing. But I want don't want to try to stain the walls though. - In
  21. The manga and anime industries owe quite the debt to this guy. May he rest in peace.
  22. Just saw a blurb on this. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/akira-toriyama-dies-dragon-ball-creator-anime-dead-age-68/
  23. Just another reminder -- clocks should be turned forward one hour on Sunday. Hey, just looked through some of the programming -- Crunchyroll is going to be there and will have some screenings and other things. And looks like Awesome Con will have a small section for anime stuff. I hope it's good. So great that anime is getting a bigger presence at a comic con!
