How can someone have not updated that we broke 100 days! That's right people- we're into double digit territory! 97 days and counting!
I have friends who are at Sakuracon right now, texting me stuff that they're doing, while I'm reading posts about conventions of my own...anyone ever get the feeling conventions just sorta take over your life? XD

Isn't it funny how we wait basically 11 months for 3 days of fun?
Funny is when you work your butt off for 11 months, then work like a madman for a solid week, to bring other people 3 days of fun, and you don't get to see it yourself.

Do you have pictures of me and my husband walking around as the RED JAGUARS from Legends of the Hidden Temple?
We got stopped so much I'm sure someone's bound to have pictures here!

It happened last year as well. Afraid I don't know if its happened more than that.

Does 'state of total panic' count? XD Both of my costumes are MAYBE 50% done...guess I'll be starting my late nights a day early. Oh the things we do for con....

If you are cosplaying as any Doctor Who characters, please stop by the Whooligans table (P-12) in the Artist's alley, because we would love to take your pictures. (We're also going to be selling a bunch of Doctor Who fan stuff, including a convention only doujinshi).
If only we didn't have to set up while the photoshoot was going on....

To the OP: Did you know there is going to be a RHPS gathering at midnight on Saturday? Apparently, they are going to do the time warp then if you want to join them.

I too have a Grand International Market nearby. I shall be bring different flavors of pocky, sure, but there are so many other Japanese snacks! Personally, I prefer the koalas ^.^

I'm coming along with one of my best friends, but am rooming with two friends from my anime club, one of my room mates from last year, a few on line friends and several others that have similar interests. But I always run into other friends and people from prior years, so technically I'm never alone.

This may seem like over kill, but a few dryer sheets in your suitcase or bag will help prevent odors while in transit(Maybe helpful for people coming from farther away) Nothing wrong with having a good starting point : )
-
Turn off alarm set for 6am, rollover,go back to sleep.
Repeat at 6:30.
At 7:00am, finally drag lazy butt out of bed.
Scramble for shower time with 9 other room mates.
Eat breakfast.
Walk down the street and into convention at 8.

I said it last year, and I'll say it again- Wolf's Rain I live in hope(or a pleasant state of denial, but who can tell the difference?)
-
My wish list is:
A pillow case/item of clothing from the guy who does airbrushing(I have a CD case & several prints from him from several different cons)
Anything Wolf's Rain
Saiyuki cards/magnets
Plushie from a series I dont have one for yet
Something from Kyo Kara Maou

I guess it's a matter of opinion but IMHO, the ones I wish never existed are the following:
1. The new pokemon and the new digimon (personally I loved the old stuff and is still an old beyblade/yuigioh fan. I love saying "Back in my day, there were only 150 pokemon)
2. Ghost in a shell
3. Inuyasha (they kinda milked the relationship thing)
ah yes, I remember the good old days when there were only 150 pokemon. I did like the series back then. now there are just too many.
And my problem with inu yasha is this........... the episode were the jewel shard broke in a million pieces, I just knew each freakin' piece would be an episode....... and I was right............

I would love to meet up with you guys! I'm going as the first Romana-Mary Tamm, not Lala Ward-in the 'Androids of Tara' outfit. There will definitely be some great photo-ops.
In answer to whoever asked why we cosplay something that isn't asian? Because we can. I hadn't heard of that Doctor who convention, or it would have been nice to visit with my char. So sometimes anime cons are the only chance I get! I was a dalmation last year because my kimono did not arrive on time, but I still had a blast and no one gave me a hard time. Otaku are nice like that. I even got hugged by a chibi

i think people shold be allowed to cosplay whomever they want to. as long as they have fun doing it. would not bother me if the whole con did only naruto and bleach. if they put in effort AT ALL into the char that they are cosplaying, i don't think they deserve to be made fun of, or outcast. i wonder what would happen if an anime starring boxes became popular. someone would be mad that everyone is cosplaying a box. who cares go to cons have fun. i say more of the same char cosplayed =more photos for me

Sadly I didnt get to have one for 07 because my darn cosplay sword was giving me problems. The pain wasnt drying fast enough, darn 8 foot Zangetsu. So because of that me and my friends endded up in the line on friday, but it wasnt that bad. Actually it just added to the suspense.
Are you saying you werent allowed into otakon because your cosplay sword was too big? If thats so, I can understand being frustrated over that - but an 8 foot prop would be hard to carry around for 3 days, not to mention possibly hurt someone. I have a 5 ft cosplay pole and BCC staff was inspecting THAT at the door. boy, I was sweating bullets until they said "okay you're fine".

wait, no, its me! its gew-yeg! i have more than one computer in my house! nooOoooOoOoO
Oh..okay... if you say so...
*puts away the rope with a  face*
I learned a very valuable lesson today:
Never put a candy bar in the freezer;not because it'll freeze, but because someone besides you will eat it.
