There was quite a line last year, if I remember correctly.

The immersion factor must help a ton. I plan on doing a study abroad at some point. The economy certainly is not helping much. 「コンピューターを使えます」ですか?「コンピューターが使えます」ですか?

Thank you very much for all the advice! Also, I found the channel #nihongo on freenode is a very good resource to use. There are a few 日本人 who are very helpful. You can also find a lot of other non-native speakers that have traveled or are currently staying in Japan there too. Again, どうもありがとうございますBlinkerさん!

The Irritating White Japanophile. No doubt about it.

Is there an expression in Japanese that is equivalent to 'bless you' (sneezing sense)?

I am a personal believer that learning by trial and error is, while not efficient, eventually successful. We all have professionals we can seek advice from, but with lack of immersion it is difficult to matriculate yourself in 100% correctness. That being said, as long as you take things step by step and cross reference with a known credible source later on, then you can probably still achieve good results. Thank you for your input, PyronIkari. Boku no nihongo wa warui desu ne? Demo... wakarimasu. The only way to get better is by using it. As you see happening now, you will be corrected. Spea

In January I moved from Upstate NY to Arizona. Naturally I had to scout around to find some store that sells anime, and awesomely enough when I did find the store it was stocked with two friendly con-goers who have flown from Arizona since 2005 to attend Otakon. (Slightly off-topic, sorry Ms. MC, but I think 'Otakon' should be added to the board's dictionary.)

Ahh, yeah. I wasn't thinking. Deshita deshita deshita. I should have looked at what I wrote. Arigatou for the constructive criticism. We need more learners! C'mon, people!

I have been leaving my car at a lightrail park n' ride station for the last two years with no complications as well.

My grammar is so bad, but I'm going to give this a shot anyways. Itsu ohayou o kakimashita boku no jikan wa jyuu ichi-ji desu. いつおはようをかきましたぼくの時間は十一時ですした。 Maybe? ^_^

I am not a frequent BBS user in any respect, but over the past week, just on a whim, I started reading through the boards and posting in random topics. It was during this slew of random posts when I realized that, even with all these fans of Japanese culture, there is still no learning Japanese section! Partaking in over indulgences of anime and j-pop is an everyday activity for me. Unfortunately I am always watching fansubs and slowly translating lyrics to obscure songs english translations are not available for. If you are in any sort of similar situation, then hopefully you know how I feel

Anime shows that never should have exsisted
Nalfeshnee replied to Duelistbluerose's topic in Discussion
As of right now I think One Piece is going to have to run into my list of shows that should not exist. I will say, however, that I have not given it much of a chance. That being said if it is indeed worth watching, then someone should be able to make a formidable argument against it making my list, ne? -
So anyone here playing Dissidia yet?
Nalfeshnee replied to webyugioh's topic in Video Games Chit Chat
Nihongo ga wakarimasen. Anou, I am very disappointed that there wont be a Dissidia release for the ps3, but what can you do? Anyways, I will be bringing Dissidia with me to Otakon. ^_-
