  1. I have about 6 unfinished Geneon series, so I was pretty stoked (still am) at the news. I can't wait to see Hellsing Ultimate OVA 4, and get it in that nice steelbook.
  2. While the news about ADV has gotten only worse, we can rejoice that Geneon is coming back thanks to a distribution deal with Funimation.
  3. Yaaay someone who knew! YES. The garage is in front of the Sheraton BCC Hotel. It's an underground garage, btw, and for the past million years (well you know) it has only cost us $7 PER DAY to park here on the weekends.
  4. The two jobs I've held while going to Otakon have been really cool about letting me go (I usually take the entire week/weekend off and the Monday after). My boss at my current job forgot at the last minute in 2006 and 2007. In 2007 I even got a call from one of the assistant managers asking me where I was. He could tell from the tone of my voice I got pretty mad at him as I was explaining where I was. I covered all of my bases, but apparently the entirety of the management team just completely forgot. He just laughed it off and told me to enjoy myself. This year will probably be no different.
  5. Going with about 6 friends, most of which I met while in high school, and 2 guys I've never met before (friends of a friend). To be honest I'm trying to cut that number down a little. It's not that I don't want any of them to come, but things start to become a little cumbersome. I've given an ultimatum; everyone must pre-register, and they must do it by a certain time which is coming up soon. Some of my friends are absent-minded like I am, so I should be able to kick a few to the curb with that stipulation.
  6. I've never looked for love at Otakon though I was trying to help my friend look for a nice girl at another con. I really didn't have to help him, as there were actually quite a few girls giving him the opportunity to initiate a conversation, but he was too scared to do anything
  7. Wow, when that's finished it should be awesome and very useful.
  8. I've always taken anywhere between $1,000-$1,500 dollars since 2004. At my very first convention (Otakon 2003) I had about $150 dollars and was essentially by myself. I didn't eat while I was there and commuted with my dad all three days. I went into the dealer's room and was easily overwhelmed, since then I had vowed to always take a good amount of money with me. This year it looks like I'll be able to take about $1,500, so same as usual. I'm not exactly sure of the hotel costs as I haven't gotten a final count of who will be in the room, and for food I usually spend about $100-$120 for Thurs
  9. Saikano. No anime/movie/book/whatever has done that before or since. I was about to cry around the middle of the series, but I held it in. Then I finished it, and everything that I felt was so sad just rushed back in me and I couldn't help but cry. I laugh now (at myself), but I was dead serious at the time.
