  1. I booked there earlier and they never said anything like that. This year I just printed out my Radisson page and used the Express check-in (available through the web the week before) and it went very smoothly. Maybe because my name is on the credit card (though its my mom's), they didn't bother asking me about it. I was under the impression you needed to be 21 there, and I had just turned 18. My first Otakon, I was 13 and stayed with my friend's parents. I wouldn't change that, as I'd be entirely clueless back then on my own. Its just not safe to be on your own, even walking around at
  2. Deodorant samples. Not Axe. Like actualy mini-deodorant sticks. Dear LORD, the confunk...
  3. as we've been saying before ru, but ya seem to not want to listen. earlier you posted that you dont care about the service and glad you got a cheaper rate then everyone else. the only reason people go to the days inn is because its 30 feet away from the con. they know that. they will provide you with borderline service. such as broken air conditioners, i stayed there in 2005 and the room temp was 85-90 degrees with the air on full blast...... the sheraton however, with 5 people in the room, if you put the thermostat 60 degrees....it was that cold till you could see everyones breath
  4. So those who've stayed here before.. is the service THAT bad? I'm doing some research and getting some pretty mediocre reviews.
  5. They do. I know this because one person in the group that I went to Otakon with in 2001 checked her bags in at the Days Inn.
  6. Anybody know if the Days has a bag-check service?
  7. When they called, I told them to give someone else my spot on the list because I'd already gotten a cheaper rate. The lady asked me how and I told her I was a secret agent. XD
  8. having been a resident of the baltimore area for almost twenty years, i can tell you with absolute certainty that this right here is an oxymoron. as long as your cosplay doesn't involve baggy pants that are down to your knees and allowing boxers and thongs to show, and as long as you don't smell like the drink you have concealed in a paper bag you're carrying, and as long as your reason for getting people's attention doesn't involve asking them for money they can spare, you're probably an improvement over what most of us are used to seeing in the city.
  9. When over 22,000 Otaku take over the city for a weekend? When you look at it from the viewpoint of a regular, upstanding citizen of Baltimore who doesn't know much or anything at all about Otakon, it seems pretty funny yet totally bewildering. One day you're minding you're own business, and the next thing you know there's giant masses of people toting insane-looking costumes, giant swords, crazy fantasy weaponry, millions of glowsticks and other freaky-looking sorts of people filling the streets for an entire weekend. Some take it kindly, while others... well, not so much. But for those w
  10. You know DS games are region free, right? An American DS will play games from anywhere.
  11. It would be nice to put another person or two in my room to split down the cost a bit, but seeing as my girlfriend wants to go, I doubt that'll happen. And it's a very good point that you can just walk right across the street to the BCC. Now we don't have to get up so early to walk and still get to all the different panels on time (The OCRemix panel was at 9AM and we missed it... T.T) and if we forget anything at the room, it's no problem.
  12. Rurouni Kenshin (excuse my spelling ><) Samurai X had me crying.
  13. Did you use an AAA discount? I know some people got cheaper rates from that. Otherwise, their normal rates are $179 for two people, $189 for three, or $199 for four. If you reserved under a 2 person rate just to be cheaper, you run the risk of getting a smaller room at check-in.
  14. I had my room at the Days reserved on the 15th at $169/night. I still find it rather strange that the con rate is MORE expensive..
  15. If it is, why are there's no info yet on the web page? Also, what exactly are the con rates for these hotels? Well, if that is the case, I will just try and reserve a room on one of the other near-by hotels.
  16. I'm just being a realist. I mean, as much as I love to go to cons, I also have to pay for a place to live, buy food to eat, and other basic things of life.
  17. Annnnnd thanks for totally shooting me down... T.T Meh, I've got a reservation and that's all that matters right now.
  18. Where are people finding out they're getting called back on the 22nd? If this is true, hell, I'll request off work just so I can wait for the call. Any money saved is still good. Maybe the rates will be lower than last year..?
  19. I hope to God that's true, because I have paid way more then that in previous years at other parking lots.
