  2. 1. I got to meet friends I didn't get to see from last year.

    2. Dealers Room!

    3. I got to see Mike S. and got his autograph before his panel. He literly jumped when he saw me. I was dressed as a Foot Ninja. xD

    4. I got to talk to and meet Ellyn Stern and Richard Epcar.

    5. Sunday's AMV contest showing was awesome!!

  3. I'm planning to cosplay as a Foot ninja from the 2003 TMNT cartoon. Thing is I'm not sure where to look for materials or a Bo staff. Anyone in the Maryland/DC area, your help would be appreciated.

If you have a yard with trees, go outside and find a nice, straight, slender one that's at least as tall as you are.

And chop it down, peel the bark, sand it smooth (it's a labor of love).

It sounds silly, but my dad made a bunch of them when I was little and they all looked awesome.

If you're not sure how to go about it, there's probably a book about bo staves in your local library.

  5. I'm gonna be going as Ash (Kanto) as my main cosplay and if ever get things together I might go as a Foot ninja from TMNT. I cosplayed for my first time last year at Otakon and I'd say my cosplay was a success but I am trying to make a better jacket.

I don't know where you were all convention, but I certainly didn't feel like there was a WHOLE lot of Naruto and Bleach cosplay. I think you have to approach it with a different mindset: instead of perhaps being expectant and pessimistic (i.e. "oh god, a sea of shinigami and shinobi") adapt one that is more of just being ok with it (i.e. "right, naruto and bleach. ok"). Besides, I think Bleach/Naruto nation is kind of giving way to Death Note and One Piece.

Just like you've pointed out, Bleach and Naruto are extremely popular. So of course both the Alley and the Dealer's room are going to cater to that. Same thing with cosplayers - it's a lot easier to get your hands on a set of kunai and a forehead protector or a set of shinigami robes and a bokken. It's not about being uncreative (a good example is the one Bleach cosplayer who created a bankai'd Zabimaru).

totally. the interesting offbeat costumes were really fun this year though. bill and ted, legends of the hidden temple, GUTS (i think), snake eyes (yeah!), yoko (gurren lagann), the crow demons (i'm glad someone finally told me what they were), 'the renji' (as you mentioned - sort of ...), etc. ... there were lots of other great things i forget. i tend to miss a lot of the most popular stuff as it all just starts to look the same. anyway, my point is, "look at the bright side". there is a whole bunch of variety out there if you do.

  7. Fullmetal Alchemist and Wolf's Rain are the only anime that made me cry.

FMA- It is the episode where the guy (i forget his name) turns his girl and dog into a chimera and also the episode where Maes is killed. I cannot watch the part of his funeral because of his daughter's words.

Wolf's Rain- It has to be the last 4 episodes. To have each of the main characters die/get killed one by one like that really gets to me.
