  1. Just thought I'd put up something about this. Remember, caffine is a depresent, meaning once its run its course you feel run down. That means if you have 3 coffees or sodas back to back expect a crash later. A lot of energy drinks also depend on caffine and sugar to give you a rush and so you crash later. There are more energy drinks now that do us B-vitamans, which won't give you a crash at the end. You can also find B-12 drops, sprays, lossanges, etc. at health food stores which can give you a burst of energy. Of course with all this its still important to say you need to keep your
  2. Always awesome to get a picture with Mookie. He's an awesome guy and seems to get plenty of cosplayers. Someone should get a big group together for cosplaying the cast of his comic. Can I call dibs on Acibek?
  3. Here, I put up to Photobucket. http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm28/Sh...kuAndTemari.jpg
  4. Obviously you didn't hang out by our booth or you would have seen this: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Cha...18-NyanNyan.flv
  5. I've checked youtube a few times and still haven't found any Otakon nyan nyan dances!
  6. (repost since I first posted when they were moving all the other topics) Made one of these threads last year. So anyways, can anyone link me to photos or videos they took with me in my kitty-Miroku cosplay? I think two or three videos were taken of me doing the "nyan nyan" dance. Other than that there was a girl I danced with shortly Saturday but didn't get a chance to get contact info for or meet on Sunday. So yeah, if you danced with kitty-Miroku I am here! And hey, anyone wanting to chat with me feel free to send me a private message to trade contact info.
  7. Whoops, didn't know they were moving threads around today... I'll go repost in the post 2008 area!

  9. Water and Gatorade are two things I take, as well as money set aside just for food. A bag of some sort is also a good idea and some sort of folder for any prints and art you may buy to protect against folding and other damage. Some people may also want to consider carrying around some extra deoderant or body spray because we all agree, no one wants to be stuck next to the person with otaku-funk.
  10. Well, hopefully I'm going to get to do my roleplaying panel this year and maybe even as a workshop. I fully support panels/workshops on writing and roleplaying being done! I think there usually is at least one about fanfics each year. And if anyone is looking for an aditional person to be on a writing or roleplaying related panel, feel free to send me a message, I'm willing to offer my brain.
  11. Isn't rave music any music with some technoy part to it that can be looped? So it could have some banjo cords in it and still be techno. You might have a lot of people that enjoyed the track with the saxophone in it. They're not going to tell the DJ's they can't play music that takes or simulates sounds of a specific instrument. How about some banjo-techno to open the rave this year? That way people that think rave music can only be skull crushing bass can get their whining out of the way at the start.
  12. .0 hmm clever play on words just out of curiosity would a death note parking ticket or i.o.u. make any sense?
  13. What ever is popular and being aired on TV will always have a lot of cosplayers apparent for it. I think back a few years you would have seen an abundance of Inuyashas cosplayers. There was a lot of different cosplayers at Otakon this year, including a pair of Katt cosplayers (Breath of Fire 2 game), a number of Darkstalker cosplayers, and even a couple of marvel costumes (Deadpool and Ironman were the best!).
  14. Hrm... was just thinking... Even if you don't have breathalyser there, maybe consider asking Baltimore if one or a pair of police would consider standing by the rave during their shift. It would certainly make people think twice, if even for a moment, of slipping anything illegal into the rave or dinking more than they should. Also, if they had a breathalyser on hand, then it would be their perogative to use it if they think they spot anyone over intoxicated or any underage drinkers. Just a slight thought.
  15. To Iserlohn and Blues: Logistically if there was a deposit for panelists, it would be best if the refunds were given post-con, not during with needing someone to carry a checkbook or cashbox, which is a risk situation all it's own with so many people around. Also, I'm sorry to say, but if $50 is a major difference on your budget, you may want to consider skipping a convention (where people usually spend a lot more that just $50 after getting in) or making other possible sacrifices in your life to make up that difference. To Apreche: I do notice that some cons want panelists to give a
  16. Well, I had made a post elsewhere that was this: <quote> There were a number of programming problems and snafus this year... I want to make some suggestions for next. 1) Have someone keep a second set of information on panelists and workshops. As staff found out this year, computer crashes happen... You need a backup of information. 2) Consider making a "deposit" charged to panelists and workshopists. If these people quit or drop out after a certain date (like, day of con or said panel) they forfiet their deposit. If they do complete their programming, they get their dep
