  1. BTW, it seems that if you go into one of the stores having the sale and use their computers to browse BestBuy.com you can have anime shipped to the store and then get it at the 50% rate.

I can now confirm this works, just last night I bought the EVA: Perfect Collection for $50 and the 1st season of Ranma 1/2 for $20 doing this.

  2. Guess for everyone, its gonna be Suncoast

I don't like paying $20 more for everything I want...

I wish the Bel Air was on that list, but I may still check there Saturday after Weight Watchers. They may also be one that are discounting and consolidating their section.

If it's not on the list, they arn't doing it. The staff at the other stores have no idea about it, actually the employees at the oneI bought my stuff at barely even knew what was going on. To scale down their inventory they are sending stock form some stores to the ones on the list.

  3. Maybe the Dragon Ball Z movie will be out in time for a Sneak Peak.

Oh and the movie in White Marsh has a banner saying it's getting IMAX, of course it has no other details, but just seeing that I might not have to go to Philly for a good IMAX makes me giddy as a school girl.

    *giggles*

  4. So I'm driving home from work last night just after the ball game ended and as I drive up I395 I get a great view of the new Hilton's ballpark facing rooms. Fully lit as though it was the middle of a sunny summer afternoon in the glow of the Camden Yards stadium lights. Considering how late they keep the lights on after night games, it sure will suck to try and sleep in those rooms.

Um... you forgot one small thing in this situation. and this is a big IF too, what if during the con there is no home game scheduled. Its a 50% shot of happening.

of course they might have some great *bleep* curtains to keep out the light :D

I may also be referring to the hotel it's self and not directly to staying there during the con. Also odds are in favor a at least one home game over lapping an Otakon in the future.

  6. Couldn't edit my post. The harbor does have a movie theater...

    Landmark's Harbor East Cinema

    645 President St., Baltimore, MD, USA - (410) 244-6636

    http://www.landmarktheatres.com/market/Bal.../HarborEast.htm

Hopefully HP will be there, lol - they don't offer online ticketing yet. They do however rent out the theater, I doubt they would rent it out on opening night though and I don't think they do it for new releases.

this looks like a small independent theater. they might not show HP there.

there's a Imax theater on Light St & Key Hwy... but i dunno how far from the convention center that is

That's actually not the case at all. While they do show some Indy films they only use around 2-3 or their 8 screens for them. I have personally, since it opened only gone there to see movies, all of which were mainstream (I think I've seen about 20 in the 8 or 9 months it's been there) Including Prince Caspian, Iron Man, Speed Racer, Indiana Jones, 'The Forbidden Kingdom', and the Dark night If that's not mainstream, I don't know what is. The Theatre is very, very nice, all leather seats, super clean, and heck it's a got a bar.

As for the Imax, it's been a huge disappointment, movie wise for most baltimorons.

    But I'm way off topic.

If Otakon wants to do a Baseball game why not do the Left Field Club deal where the food is all you can eat?

  7. I love your icon, I can't stop giggling at it. DX FTW!

    Thank LL. >_>

    Vash with Donuts anyone?

Ahaha you jerk, I was so hungry on Saturday afternoon and you were like ":B :B :B donut?"

Hey, my room mates ate everything in that box and left me none. But then again I was on my way to eat pizza.

Come back again and your quesadilla will be on me.

    *hops back on topic*

  8. Women are getting smaller. I'm 5'11" and more or less have to order my jeans out of catalogs now because there are only one or two stores that carry jeans/pants that are long enough for me - I'm simply a freaking giant compared to the average American woman.

(This just in: ZILLA-GL TERRORIZES BALTIMORE! NO ONE IS SAFE! MAYHEM AND DESTRUCTION FOLLOW IN HER WAKE! )

*I should add that while stores like Nordstrom or what have you carry jeans with 36" inseams, aforementioned Jeans for Giants are also usually far, far out of my modest college-student budget, and are built in the much-mourned "XXS" sizes (which I am not, nor ever will be heh).

Try finding 28 waist 36 inseams pants in a store or size 15 shoes..

American Sizes suck. Screw "average" size people

  9. Heheh, I was wondering if there were any Baltimore locals going to Otakon that like to party after the con, but would have the convenience of a place to hang rather than a hotel room.

^^ Anyone? I'm from NY but I don't know anyone in Baltimore, so.

Most Baltimore natives, including myself, still get a hotel room since its easier than trying to drive/bus/walk home at 2am.
