  1. Why? That's my first reaction - why do you want to set up a game of Twister at an anime convention? Twister is in no way, shape, or form related to anime or Japanese culture. While it's a blast to play a few rounds with friends, the odds of having an official Otakon Twister Tournament are essentially zero. We already have more programming than there is time for over the weekend - and that's limiting things strictly to east Asian or east Asian-influenced offerings.

Where? That's my second question - as Jen said, there are no good places in the BCC to set something like this up, even if (especially if) it is not an Official Otakon Event. Even if you find a corner that's big enough for your game, nine times out of ten that corner will not be big enough to adequately contain the crowd that will inevitably form around people playing Twister.

How? How will you keep things under control? How will you stop something when it gets out of hand? Twister is, by its very nature, not a Controlled Environment, and even the slightest disruption could quickly escalate into something serious in such a charged and crowded atmosphere as the BCC. Even if you and your planned group are responsible, there are inevitably one or two (or twelve) people who will, just for the fun of it, try to ruin your game.

If you'd still like to email the staff again, you're more than welcome to, of course. You can use the Contact Us page to send an email to Programming. However, the answer will almost certainly be no. A game or three of Twister is better played among friends in your hotel room (or outside, if the weather is nice) than in the BCC.

  2. Alright, I feel sorta bad posting this considering I sent an email to 'General Info' asking the same question, but it's been several days and I'd really like an answer.

I wanted to plan something fun this year at Otakon, so I thought about having a Twister Tournament.

(I doubt I need to explain it, but Twister as in "right hand red, left leg blue.")

I proposed the idea on cosplay.com and several people suggested I get this

checked out with the staff to clear up any problems there might be with liability and other such things.

I pretty much just want to know if it'll be okay.

I am responsible, as are the people I plan to attend with. If there are any

issues with any of the people, should the tournament take place, we will make

sure to take care of it in a reasonable manner.

If we see any thing that could result in injury happening, we will take care of

    that as well.

I will be sure to make Guidelines for the participants to follow, and if they do

not agree, we will not allow them to play.

The group playing will not be that large either, nor will we let too many people

    play at once.

Please consider letting us do this, as we are very fond of the idea and others

interested don't seem like unreasonable people. I can assure you that I will do

everything in my power to make it a fun and safe game. The staffers have more

important things to deal with then some people playing Twister, after all.

    Thank you.~

  3. Alright. After changing it a ton of times, I'm finally done picking my costumes.

Friday will be Trish Una from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Saturday will be Rika Furude (Everyday) and Suicide!Rika.

Sunday (and Thursday) will be Dokuro Mitsukai from Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan.

    ...Crap. I have to change my signature again. -______-;

  4. Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, please?

Or when the OVA comes out, Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Another OVA, if possible, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei?

Speaking of Higurashi, would it's violence be too much to have it open to everyone?

Would there be age limits for certain shows next year?

I know Excel Saga's 26th episode didn't have one, and it probably really needed one.

What type of characteristics make shows require an age limit? Blood? Sex? I'm really at a loss here.

Not that I'm complaining. I'm not old enough to go to +18 things, and I really love Higurashi.

  5. I finalized my plans this past weekend. xD

(No idea what days yet. I'll know when cosplay.com people post their gatherings.)

Haruhi Fujioka (Alice/Wonderland manga version) - Ouran High School Host Club [i actually started this yesterday. xD I hope it still fits next year...]

Rena Ryugu (Everyday) - Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

    Sheik (Default) - LoZ OoT/SSBB

    My plans got kinda messed up. .__.;

I just got braces so I needed characters that don't have to be extremely happy all the time. xD

  6. I want to thank any con-goers who moved as I ran past them on my way to the bathroom, yelling, "MOVE PLEASE! SORRY! EXCUSE ME!" on Saturday.

Thanks to those people, we saved the entire con from me vomiting in the hallway.. >_> (TMI. I'm sorry, but it's true and you know it.)

Ultra thanks to the person who took my picture while I was feeling sick before that who told me how moe I was. xD

That made me feel SO much better.

Compliments are nice. 8D Hurray for cosplay!

  7. I don't really care about the voices, as terrible as that sounds, because I know I'll eventually get used to them.

(I did notice that almost every voice actor was in FMA. Pretty sneaky, Caitlin.)

Speaking of Caitlin, she did the casting for the VAs, right? Or is she the director?

If she did the casting, it's kinda odd to cast yourself as the main character. .___.

    Here's my main problem:

Did they REALLY have to dub Sakura Kiss? REALLY? I don't understand that at all.

  8. I am 100% behind the Dubbing Panel idea.

I'm not sure I can convey in words how interested I am in voice acting.

I'd love to see one of those set ups where con-goers can be picked to dub a short clip of a character of their choice.

Even being a spectator to that would completely thrill me.

  9. Wow! This kind of topic is exactly why I came to the Bulletin Board today! :D

I decided today to swap my L cosplay for Satoko Houjou.

So, there will be two Higurashi cosplayers this year! (So far.)

    YAY! >:D

I'm also proud of myself, 'cause this'll be the only cosplay out of my three that I'll be making myself.

    (With my mom's help. I'm sewing-tarded.)

  10. My major goal is at least three costumes, but I'd like to do four or more. Dx

If could change from either L from Death Note or Haruhi from Ouran for Luppi from Bleach, that'd rock.

I'm already being Rukia, and that costume is the least heavy out of all of them, so I'd like to stay as her to avoid a heat stroke.

    Idea!:

I considered the possibility that if I can find a Rukia (Shinigami version) cosplayer to hang out with,

I could always change Rukia (School Uniform) to Chappy. O_O I'd no doubt be the only Chappy cosplayer.

    Da-pyon.~ :3
