  1. Howdy Folks :)

Getting excited for Otakon? I sure am !

As this year will be the first year I am going without a parental advisor, I have decided to take Amtrak from New York to Baltimore. As I have read on the Otakon website, it seems the best way to get from Penn Station to the Convention center is the Light Rail *which seems fun*

So I'm just looking for any helpful advice that I need to know as a person using this for the first time.

Specific questions: How early do the Light Rails run?

Is there a light rail that goes from the Convention Center to Penn Station?

How close is The Convention Center to the Holiday Inn, I've heard it's rather close but... I wanna know specifics

Here's some information that might help with the answer to my question----

~ I'm coming in on Thursday Afternoon, Leaving *hopefully* Monday Morning

~ It'll be me and one friend it looks like.

~ I'd rather not take a taxi, unless you highly recommend it *is slighty scared of taxii's*

~ I'm willing to pay any sort of money :)

    thank you !!

  2. I think the ballroom will be more suited for the rave, I've been to other Hilton hotels before and most don't let you enter the hotel if you don't show ur hotel key. Is not like they are going to stay quiet and don't do anything if ravers start making noise on the elevators or hallways. Progress shouldn't succumb to lack of manners, that's what security is for. I'm also staying at the Hilton by the way :)

  3. Yoshiki was doing an Asia promotion this week, where he gave a few interviews. I thought one of these might be of interest to you guys.

Basically, X Japan is adding another member. Yoshiki wouldn't say who it is, but Yoshiki decided the matter when the new member had a meeting in LA with him in August. He sees the guy as keeping the support position that hide once played. The new member will play on the world tour.

Also, he says that this world tour may be the "last", as concerts are proving difficult for them and they would like to go out still blooming. They will play Paris in November, Taiwan in February and Hong Kong in January.

They will also adjust dates on the postponed Madison Square concert, and add Japan concert dates. They would like to bring the style of their Tokyo Dome concert to all of their world concert tour locations. Hide will be there and Sugizo will be there. (Which makes me suspect that Sugizo is the 6th member, but we'll see.)

  4. How can you be sure? for what I read you have to make the reservation through them not a third party to get the points. I e-mailed them and they had the usual automatic answer, it didn't clear things up. Can someone clear this up? it would be a shame to loose those points!

    Thx

Technically, as an outside booking, it shouldn't be possible ... but I found (at least I found back in the days of Wyndham) that when you call to confirm, if they don't ask/point out that there is no account associated, just ask if it was put in at the same time, and they will include the account for tracking. I may just go this route for next year anyway, because going back in to Passkey with preference changes seemed to open a bit more of the reservation for editing than I am confortable with.

  5. Well, I just got my Hilton Honors card and info through the snail-mail route and what I believe that, for EVERYONE that has reserved a room with the Hilton, that if you are with the HHonors with the Hilton then you show the card you got or will get to the check-in people. when you check-in to the hotel next July and there is still no solution to the HHonors question then proceed with what I just said. that should work at getting you the points and stuff, and for those of you that reserved a room with the Hilton but dont have the HHonors with them, go get it.
  6. A question for anyone who's booked a room at the Radisson:

It seems the only place to specify between a room with one or two beds is in the special request box, which I did (for a 2 bed), but it doesn't actually confirm what kind of room you have. What's the best way to find out? If you call, will they have that sort of info now, or closer to the con, or not until you actually check in? I'm assuming that if you specify there's 3 or 4 adults in the room, you'll get preference for the separate beds, but since I don't really know how many of us will be going next year, I put in 2 adults for the lower price for now. Has anyone had any experience with this?

  7. Wow you guys suck, I can't reserve any good rooms now..or maybe the system is just f**ked up.

Well, if it's any comfort, the hotels themselves aren't full yet, so you could always get a room at the regular rate...for about another month or so.

I was trying to get the days inn 120/night rate when it was available, but the site kept messing up and I can't reserve it now.

  8. That story is so cool, I agree that you can not figure out what will happen with one person or another until life eventually figures it out. I know a couple of friends that met online and then I encouraged them to meet offline. They went out together like for 3 years and then they ended up getting married, the funny part was that the guy online nickname was kenshin and she was tomoe. they are still married ^^ and alive lol. This happened around 2002 they even have a son, I-m so glad I told them to meet each other, they were both shy ^^"

  9. Don't worry, I know a couple of guys that like to take care of themselves. I think that if there are that kind of guys here it's difficult for them to post about it, god knows there's mean people in the world that is against guys looking cute :D !! But I hope for mankind survival that you are not alone
