That was your first panel? I'm really impressed! I really enjoyed your explanation of how the themes of crime and justice in Persona related to the criminal justice system in Japan as a whole; I learned a lot. I hope you guys come back!

I'll bite! Name of Hotel: Renaissance Was it part of the official block? Yes Price: $700-ish for a Thurs-Sun stay Type of room: Double bed The Good: Close to the convention, super polite staff. We got comped wi-fi for being part of the convention block, and there were apparently themed special drinks (and maybe food) at the hotel bar, although we never got around to checking out if that was true. We were able to check in early with no difficulty, and checking out wasn't too bad of a wait (we forgot that you can check out via their app, so that's on us). Housekee

We didn't go to many panels this year, but I enjoyed the ones we did go to! We actually had to do quite a bit of weighing two equally-awesome sounding panels and picking one. The Friday morning Japanese sweets panel was great way to start the con; the panelists had a great rapport and were a hoot to listen to! I finally made it to Anime's Craziest Deaths and it was just as gloriously bonkers as I'd heard. It was sooo late in the day, though, and we were wiped the next day from staying up so late to see it. We managed to catch a bit of Awesomely Bad JMVs, and I hope this is brought back again n

Otakon 2019: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

I agree about separate entrance lines. I don't see why they can't have Hall B's escalator as a separate autographs-only entrance? Looking at the schedule, Inoue basically got hustled from a panel to Opening Ceremonies to the autograph session to another panel with little time between events. I have no idea why they thought that would work. -
I ended up getting a lot of stuff from Artist's Alley, more than I anticipated. Lots and lots of prints, enamel pins, and stickers. The merch highlight there was finding some Yotsuba&! stickers. Also got some Persona art commissioned. It's always hard to predict what I'll get from the Dealer's Room since you never know what you're going to find. This year, I bought: Some Final Fantasy soundtracks A Todoroki Shoto "Amazing Heroes" figure A Bleach tote bag, T-shirt, poster, pin set, and keychains (amazed I could still find merch from this show!) Otakon 2019: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Kept meaning to do this, and I hope it's not too late! The Good: The Bradio concert! There's always a great variety of concerts to choose from, and I'm so happy that you got them as guests this year! Lines (for the most part, see below) were handled very well. Thursday pre-reg pickup in particular went unbelievably smoothly, and we never had to wait in a line to get inside the building. Variety of programming continues to be plentiful and excellent. Almost *too* much to do, but I don't see that as a problem! Artist's Alley had so many fantastic artists this year! -
Peeking through the schedule, I see that she has autograph signings at the Autographs section of the Dealer's Room at the following times: Friday from 4-5, Saturday from 12-1, and Sunday from 12:45-1:45. Autographs are listed toward the bottom of the schedule. You should plan on getting in line about an hour before the autograph session starts. I will say from my personal experience that I had the easiest time getting autographs on Sunday, but your experience may be different.

A "guest panel" is more like a sit-down Q&A with the guest, a moderator, and the attendees; they don't sign autographs at those. The autograph signings happen down in the Autograph area of the Dealers' Room. Sometimes if you go to the guest's panel they will hand out tickets and such to jump to the front of the line down at the autograph sessions, but I think it depends on the guest. There's a lot of good information about the autographs process here: https://www.otakon.com/info/general-policies/ Just scroll down to where it says "Guest and Autographs" and click on it, it should tell you j

For the curious, I got a partial response on Otakon's Twitter account: "This year, the only paid VIP autograph tickets are being sold through the VIP concert passes for concert guests and the Fruits Basket meet-and-greet through Funimation." Although if anyone knows anything else about what the structure will be like for this year, I'd love to know! I'm kind of concerned since Kikuko Inoue's autograph session starts at 12:45, but the Dealer's Room opens at 12:00. It's going to be a mad rush to get to the Dealer's Room line, get in, and then head to the autographs area...I'm also a little

Otakon's Twitter is indicating this weekend: https://twitter.com/Otakon/status/1151912674227343362 I wouldn't be surprised to see it go live next week, though.

Hi there! Last month, someone asked the Otakon Twitter account for information on the autograph sessions. The reply they received was: "Autograph session details will be announced soon, but there will be a mix of paid VIP (like the concerts), panel sessions, and first-come first-served autograph lines. Some autographs will allow brought merch, others will require a merch purchase (dependent on the contract)." It's been almost four weeks since then, with no details announced. Can anyone confirm if there will indeed be paid VIP tickets to the autograph sessions, and when these would be made avai

For those interested, the autograph sessions have been added to the schedule!

I'm surprised that the autograph sessions haven't been added to the schedule yet! We're only two weeks away, what could be happening? I can't plan out my schedule until I know what autographs are being offered when...Otakon, please hurry!

Hi! Does anyone have photos of my group? On Friday, I was Lunar's Mia Ausa accompanied by a Jessica D'Alkirk and Isaac and Miria from Baccano (in their Wild West costumes). Friday, I was the Soi Fong, tagging along with Dark Sheik, Dark Zelda, and Baccano's Isaac in his Pumpkinhead costume. If anyone can help us, we'd love you forever~~
