I'm watching Slayers NEXT right now.

The majority of my cosplays tend to be pretty obscure, both because my tastes in anime run on the less-mainstream side and because I tend to like the secondary characters more anyway. What's worse, a LOT of those costumes are not only hard to recognize, they're made out of "normal" clothes, so a lot of people don't even realize it's a costume at all! Naota's Dad from FLCL and Stoner from Eureka Seven are both perfect examples of that.
(to REALLY go off the deep end of obscurity, this year I'm going to walk around dressed as The Nostalgia Critic and see if even one person notices it's a costume)

I'd have to disagree with the Digimon thing. That was my favorite show when I was younger. It was decent, at least. Hardly deserving of "never should have existed". Looking back on it now, it's not a work of art, but it was meant for kids.

I'm going to take the coward's way out and hate on an anime that nobody else has heard of:
Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space. It's an artsy, pretentious, BLACK AND WHITE FLASH ANIMATION that came out in 2002 and has yet to see an official English release. I had the misfortune of sitting through it at a convention several years back, and I have never wanted 90 minutes of my life back that bad. It is hands down the slowest, dullest, most entertainment-free anime I've ever witnessed. There's a lot of anime I just plain dislike, but Tamala 2010 is the only one that just plain should not exist.

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I dream about anime conventions on a regular basis. Like, every couple of weeks at least.
They always end the same, slightly amusing way: I start to wake up enough to remember that I didn't spend the previous week or two getting ready for a con, start freaking out over how I managed to actually SHOW UP before remembering this, realize it can't actually be happening, and wake up.

Holy cow, people are actually READING it! YAY!!!
Thanks for all the kind feedback!

Conventional Wisdom, a not entierly accurate and rather exageratied version of what Otakon 2008 was like for me.
(Oh, if you want to get a more realistic version of what happened all weeked, you could always read My Otakon Convention Journal, but that's, you know, READING...)

I've been watching Pani Poni Dash lately, since it gives my brain a rest from pre-con preparations.
