I wonder if the concert will have a huge effect on the Thursday line? Like, everyone goes to the concert instead of waiting, so there's no one in line. hmm...

I find it rather shocking that this hotel still seems to have alot of rooms left. I would have thought that it would sell out fairly quickly since it is connected to the con center and I think that some Otakon things are going to be held in it.

One problem that I see with having pre-reg for the big events is that I don't believe it is fair. Especially if you are talking about registering for these events before the con. Here is my reasoning for this feeling. There are alot of people who do not register online. They are paying just as much as or even more than the people who pre-reg. They should have the same shot at getting up-front seats as the people that pre-reg. I feel the same way about registering for the big events at the con. Ok, now I'm a little confused. I've kinda of gotten conflicting answers. Unless I am reading too much into his post, I've got Alabaster basically saying that males can go shirtless at Otakon, yet then I've got Asrial Dune saying no males cannot go shirtless at Otakon. I have a question that came up as an issue at my local con, and I wondered what Otakon's policy has been on it. Can male cosplayers go shirtless? It seems that a male cosplayer at my local con dressed up a Ace from One Piece, and he was told that he had to put a shirt on. Would he have been made to put a shirt on at Otakon?

That is the regular room rate for the Hyatt. The discount for Otakon is significant.

I don't know if they Hyatt was ever in the system or not because I just booked the rack rate, but I'm gonna tell you that I got lucky. I got a room for $229 a night a few days ago. I just checked their rates again and they have now upped them (guess they figured out that it was Otakon weekend) The lowest regular rate is now a whopping $489.00 a night. Hope everyone that wanted a Hyatt room actually got Otakon rates or made it in before the regular rates changed.

I'm heading back on May 11 - May 27 next year. Hopefully it won't be too rainy during that time, but as long as were not hit with a typhoon I'll be happy. At our business, we are fairly flexible. The employees get a week off each year plus holidays and 5 days sick leave. They don't have to give us alot of notice, it is just on a first come first serve basis. We don't want everyone taking the same week off. Sometimes things happen that someone has to have the same week that someone else already has scheduled. We will usually find a way for them both to take off. I love having the dealers, schedule(tentative) things, and eventually the artists listed like that beforehand, that's cool as crap. Great job on that little website aspect. I had the 169 rate as I was a single adult with kids. They changed my room to the 199 rate. (and included me in the block). Both are unfair as there were people who were at the top of the waiting list who were told the block was full before they even got a chance. F-
