I believe the tickets were gone by 5:00PM on Thursday. They were given away starting a little bit before registration opened and into registration to assure we would have enough people that we could give away all of the tickets.

Was this a con thing? Maybe it should be moved to general discussion? Yes it was in fact a con thing as it was part of the HD Theater changer over promotion. We gave out the tickets to the members who pre registered. From what I was told the turn out was good but it could have been better. From what I was told the weather played a huge factor in it. I was told that we may be having some other screenings to setup in the future so please check out the Otakon.com website or RSS feed for information and updates.

The only thing I'm confused about is why do we have this film? I don't mind and I'll still go see it if I have the time, but I hear so much about stuff being not allowed at the con for not being Japanese Culture/Anime related and then a Hollywood movie that has nothing to my knowledge to do with Japan is getting an advance screening here. It is a special screening of a movie that takes place before the convention begins. Also the screening is going to take place at Landmark Theater. If you have a child under the age of legal majority, he or she is your responsibility, period. That is why you punish the parents for letting the kids wander at night. True, it is the parents responsibility to look after their kids. I don't think it's a matter of parents letting their kids out late, most of the people in the article weren't aware that their kids were out or they were disobeying their parents' curfew. The schedule that fell into place for this year was done without (aside from knowing which ones we replayed this year) considering on witch night the films showed. I wanted to keep the threatre running during the whole convention and I wanted to place a title that I thought would draw less of a crowd because Friday nights of the conventions are typically the lowest attended part of the con.
