http://www.zenkaikon.com/Zkon08Sched_Web.pdf
See you next week!
-
i really wanna go and check it out since i am originally from the philly area - but the con is in the middle of nowhere and hard to get to if you dont have a car. plus i wanted to save on money and stay with relatives - but they are in Media and I don't think there's a direct route there

There are also club running resources available such as the Anime Clubs Unite Yahoogroup where club presidents from all over gather and are available to answer questions about how to run clubs and problems with clubs etc. We also assembled databases regarding popular activities to feature in your club, fund raising ideas, and contact info for the companies to get screening permissions for their titles.

Zenkaikon 2008 Announces Slants Contest!
Zenkaikon 2008 and The Slants are pleased to announce a new contest. Contest participants can enter to win a pair of tickets to Zenkaikon 2008 as well as a special meet and greet with The Slants. To enter, contestants must do the following:
STEP 1: Go to http://www.myspace.com/theslants
STEP 2: Click "ADD" next to any Slants' song to add it to your profile (we reccomend using "Kokoro (I Fall to Pieces)" but feel free to choose your personal favorite!)
STEP 3: Submit your email, MySpace URL and convention of your choice on the form on the following webpage: http://www.theslants.com/contest/
If we hear the song on your page, you could win the grand prize! The winners will be notified one month before the convention date on September 17, 2008.
Zenkaikon 2008 Membership
Membership registration by September 15 is: $13 for Friday; $15 for Saturday; $23 for both days; $45 for Two-Day VIP (please visit www.zenkaikon. com for VIP details).
At-Door registration: $15 on Friday; $20 on Saturday; $30 for both days
Two Day Group rates also available!
Pre-registration for Zenkaikon 2008 is up and running! Go to www.Zenkaikon. com to pre-register online and get information on reserving exhibitor space, panel registration Zenkaikon rules and regulations and forms for snail mail pre-registration.
Hurry and reserve your place at Zenkaikon 2008 today!
-
Check in on both days starts at 10 AM for pre-registered entrants. At-con registrations will be taken at noon, or after all pre-registered entrants are checked in (if it is earlier than that.) If you pre-registered, but are not waiting in the pre-reg line before noon, your pre-reg will be dropped and you will have to wait in the at-con reg line. (Check out rule 4 here: http://www.otakon.com/events_hallcostumecontest.asp for more information!)
You don't HAVE to be in costume, but it is recommended (especially if you get there right at ten am!) because judging will start at 11 AM. (This *is* a change from noon, which some of you have been told--and I apologize! HCC Staff will work with you if this causes any issues, such as needing a later time for judging).
Judging itself will span over the next few hours, until at LEAST 3 PM (I am expecting it to run later). Each entry will get four minutes of judging time, and the judges will then have one minute of closed-door deliberations before seeing the next entry.
So you can count on each time slot in front of you being at LEAST five minutes, more if it's a group.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have anymore questions.
-
Hey, sorry if this is a repeat topic or if it was on the website (I did search around in the rules).
A) When you check in for the Hall costume contest, do you have to already be in costume?
Does anybody know the approximate time span over which judging will go on on Friday?
Thanks ^^;;

Zenkaikon 2008 Announces Cosplay Ball, Cosplay Dating Game, and AMV Contest!
June 13, 2008
VALLEY FORGE, PA - Zenkaikon 2008 is pleased to announce three more of its major events: the Cosplay Ball, the Cosplay Dating Game, and the Anime Music Video Contest.
Zenkaikon's First Annual Cosplay Ball!
The Zenkaikon Ball is a formal costume dance party taking place Friday evening. Plus instructors will be on hand to teach you Japanese, English and Scottish folk dancing. No prior dance experience is necessary to take part in the lessons! For rules and more information, please visit: http://www.zenkaikon.com/cosplayball.html
Zenkaikon's 2008 Cosplay Dating Game: Come join us for a hilarious good time as the classic 'Dating Game' takes on a whole new meaning with cosplaying bachelors and bachelorettes! Are you a serious cosplayer? Do you really know your character? Would you like to compete for a "date" with a lovely bachelorette or handsome bachelor? Then you need to audition for Zenkaikon's Cosplay Dating Game!
One of the biggest changes we have made from last year to this year is the addition of two seperate segments - PG13 and 18+. Applicants ages 15-17 can apply for the PG 13 segment (parental consent waiver required). Applicants 18 and up and can apply for the 18+ segment (valid ID required).
* Dating Game Format:
Just like in the traditional 'Dating Games' of yesteryear TV, this dating game is similar. 3 Bachelors or 3 Bachelorettes sit on one side of a curtain, on the other side is the 'prize', an elusive bachelor or bachelorette for one of the 3 other contestants to 'win'. Twist is, you're in costume and you ARE your character. The prize will ask several questions which you must answer in character and then choose which one they want. There will be several rounds of the dating game. One game will be rated for 18+(in the evening) and one will be rated PG 13 (during the day). There are different requirements for each game, so read on!
* Winners of the Dating Game: will receive their picture on our website, some pocky and snacks to take on their 'date' and special reserved seating at the Masquerade (no waiting in line, folks!) if they choose to attend it as a 'couple'. (Winners are not required to go on a real date, its pretend).
Applications are due no later than September 19, 2008. Chosen applicants will be notified by October 3, 2008.
For rules, requirements and to download the application and waiver forms, please visit: http://www.zenkaikon.com/cosplaydatinggame.htm
Zenkaikon's 2008 AMV Contest: Here, talented editors get to display their skills and anxious anime fans are treated to unique videos that combine Japanese animation and music. Have an AMV you'd like to show off? Please read the rules thoroughly before submitting. Improvements in this year's contest include: additional prize categories (provided enough submissions are received); the acceptance of non-competing music videos for a showcase; and expanded formats for submission.
The deadline for contest submissions is September 17, 2008.
Any general or technical questions should be directed to religionx@animemusicvideos.org. For more information about submissions please visit:http://www.zenkaikon.com/amv.htm
