  1. Hotels 2018?

Lol but that's during the convention, you have time to build up more patience. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  2. Hotels 2018?

Nothing on my end, just keep an eye out for their Facebook/main website to stay updated Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  3. Hotels 2018?

The only thing I can think of is that Awesomecon has more leeway since it's a general comic/film/cartoon/everything convention with all sorts of stuff happening for everyone where as this is an anime convention. I'm guessing around $180-240 from what I remember when reservations were up. My hotel was around $200 a night and was like a 5-10 minute walking distance to the convention, I'd expect hotels that are further from the place to go for a cheaper price.
  4. Swag!

I really have to be on the look out at that place next time, guessing I'm going to have to arrive earlier than I thought especially since I didn't see those mangas there. You awaked away one lucky person, you ><.
  5. Out of all the stupid things you can do at Otakon...

It's the voice and how he talks that is off-putting but meh, I didn't really see anything that warranted hate and vitriol towards him. He plays League which is dope (if you like an inferior moba lol) but yeah he generally didn't know the con required a badge even if you were at the lobby and kindly escorted himself out and didn't make a ruckus doing so. That whole take him to the boss thing was kind of weird though, what was the point of that if I may ask Otakon staff?
  6. Number of attendees?

Great thing about the numbers of this convention (which I know has to be up to 25,000 or more) was that it didn't feel cramped at all. The experience was phenomenal and is something that I thoroughly enjoyed so I'm glad Otakon went with DC for future events.
  7. The best reacts are from the Hispanic community, glad I speak Spanish because some of the stuff you hear from them makes me laugh. One Hispanic lady I overheard was walking with her children on the sidewalk and she saw a couple of cosplayers coming their way. The mom told her children to move out of the way due to them possibly associating with the devil XD. The maids that were at the hotel I was staying (Hampton Convention Center) had asked me what was going on and why people were dressed up like clowns and what not. I had to explain to them what it was and once they figured it out they were like "oh, neat!"
  8. It was a lot of fun, the TM Revolution concert was awesome! We unfortunately had to skip out on Project Jam and the only awkward/frustrating thing was that when we got there was that someone was in our seats. Had to wait a good couple of minutes to get staff to get them out of our spot (which happened to be a row or two behind VIP. After everything was worked out, everything was A ok and I had a blast at the concert! Hearing that Rurouni Kenshin ending theme live was absolutely legit. Really happy as to how Anisong ran everything, felt like an actual concert and everything!
  9. Swag!

I managed to pick up some decent picks from Merchant's I managed to pick up 1. Volume 8/9 of Monster Musune for $5 each which is like a steal, especially when it comes to Seven Seas Manga! 2. A Crunchyroll Ultra Plus shirt for My Hero 3. An All Might Funkopop (have never purchased one due to me seriously disliking them to the core but this one for some reason changed my mind) That was about it for Merchant's but for AA I spent a pretty penny on two XL sized poster prints 1. A Samus Aran water-coloring print (by god this man is a freaking Picasso when it comes to his water based art) 2. A Nier Automata XL poster from this one lady (can't remember her name but I bought a poster from her last year in XL size for One Piece print, love her prints due to them coming out on a photo type paper which I can't remember the name of.) Overall I spent a good amount which was within budget $55/65 for the prints and 40$ for merchants, so not too bad! Omg you're so lucky, Vertical's release of Blame is mad expensive (but so worth it) and those happen to be the volumes I'm missing D:. Currently have 1/4, you must've gotten them Friday and they must've sold out that day because I didn't see them. This so happens to be the spot where I actually got my Monster Musume volumes! Not sure if you're an anal manga collector like me but those marked mangas are a big no no for me, did they so happen to come with them on the top or bottom?
  10. Folks, tip (properly) the people who serve you

Right? Like they'd have to spit in my drink or just flat out ignore me to not deserve tip (or just speak to me in a rude manner and act angry with me lol.) This can seriously leave a bad impression on the Otakon con-goers for next year which I'm hoping isn't the case.
  11. WEWCC screens

Noticed this as well, it was pretty neat! Loved the screens but I have to say they confused me the first day of the con when I went down the escalators in the M Street Building. I was staring down the hall to both the Dealer's Room Side and the Merchant's Room when I saw those signs on the screen. I at first though they directed you to the proper rooms. So I went to the AA instead of Merchant's lol that was my fault for not paying attention but yeah just that little snafu.
  12. Steps

Hmmm, not bad got a decent amount of steps in and looks like Friday took the cake for all of it Thursday: 8921 Friday: 20,259 Saturday: 14,255 Sunday: 8192
  13. Otakon 2017 Hotel Feedback

The group and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Convention Center and I have to say I was quite impressed. Chinatown metro as well as the convention center were literally 5-10 minutes walking distance. So let's start out with the Pro's/Con's Pros: -Were able to check in an hour early which was nice -Staff were more than happy to hook us up with extra blankets and pillows and I have to say that the front lobby answered the phone quick -Free Hot Breakfast (Eggs, Sausages, Waffles among other things... what more can you ask for?) -Happy Hour at their little bar from 5-7pm during all 7 days which is straight up gangsta! -Has a pool -Rooms got super cold easily and quickly which was heaven for me since I like my room cold, especially when I sleep :3 -Has both a decently sized fridge and microwave hidden in a compartment -Bathroom is an all in one bathroom (I hate it when the sink is out in the little hallway and the toilet and shower tub are separate -Hotel has a locked entrance during the night time which was pretty awesome -Coffee shop and other things like Safeway were a nice walking distance away from us Cons: -Their breakfast potatoes were over-seasoned on Friday's breakfast which was bad but luckily the next days batch were cooked well -Charges a security deposit fee of $50 for each night you stay so for your card to go through make sure you have that money and you're prepared for it (luckily I had the money but I know most people expect to pay the price to pay for.) That's all I can think of at the moment but if anything else comes to me I'll be sure to update this
  14. Check your Marriott charges

If anything the $1175 is the base charge plus any security deposit fees they charge. The Hampton Inn that I stayed at charged $50 for each night that way stayed in case of incidentals and things of that nature. They told me it would fall off within the next couple of days.
  15. Heeeeeey, same exact days. This works to my benefit
