  1. It looks like it's finally fixed (since I don't get a safety alert anymore when I log in the forum).
  2. I don't know how people are going to take this, but I was at that panel and these individuals did made me cringe when they went over the top like that. I don't know if these individuals was just trolling, or they just wanted to gain attention in the worst possible way. Well they got the attention they wanted, both good and bad.
  3. It's kind of ironic that next year's theme's is about trains and I manage to make my hotel reservation while I was waiting for my train home.
  4. The Good: I think I was pretty lucky that I never had to wait too long on lines this entire weekend I guess I was just showing up before the masses. Got to see some of my friends from the industry (who came to the con). Attended most of the panels I wanted to attend (especially the Discotek Panel). Video game room has some games I never seen before. Most people I've seen were wearing their masks at all times. Water, water everywhere! The Bad: Videos in the screening rooms that were "overrated", meaning all videos that was like at least rated 15+,
  5. I've been meaning to start a thread like this, but you beat me to it. Moxy DC I stayed in this hotel last year as well. It's about a 6 to 8 minute walk from the Convention center (about more of a block away from the Marriott Marquis). When you walk in to check in, the whole lobby is like you're entering into a Bar with a game lounge (there was a full-blown party going on just last night). The room of this hotel is what I will describe as "efficiently sized", meaning it's just big enough to suit an individual's basic needs. The room I stayed had a full-s
  6. I just made my hotel reservation just now (while I'm still waiting for my train to arrive at Union Square in Washington DC).
  7. I agree with Clutch here. BTW, I haven't seen Cousin Sue and Alabaster at the Con Feedback panel like I do every year.
  8. I expect the slow-down would be caused by the volume of people logging in as the convention draws near, but that isn't the case. It's almost as slow as dial-up sometimes.
  9. I once wanted to come in as a "Middle-Aged" Steven Universe, but I couldn't find a "Star" shirt my size.
  10. I got most of my stuff packed already (clothes, chargers, power cords, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant). Just need to take my electric shaver the morning I'm leaving. I'm also taking my laptop and a few Blu-Rays to watch in the hotel room during my "down-time". I used to take my Playstation, but I'm leaving it behind this time since some of my usual friends are not going to Otakon this year.
  11. I always walk around with my computer backpack with no problems.
  12. I know how you feel. It seems that conventions has been dropping their forums for some time. Some will say join Facebook, Twitter, Discord, Reddit, etc. I like the forums the way it is.
  13. Time will tell if Anime Expo turns out to be a super-spreader. I mentioned before, when I went to New York Comic Con and Anime-NYC last year (they were both at the Javis one month apart), people at work was so sure that I will catch Covid, but I didn't. I'm already vaccinated and made sure that I kept my mask on most of the time (like most attendees that I've seen). This year, I've already have my booster shot, and I carry my vaccination card everywhere. I'm not going to let a piece of cloth over my mouth spoil my Otakon fun.
  14. Have anyone read this article at ANN? The Irresponsible Management of This Year's Artist Alley - Anime Expo 2022 - Anime News Network Hopefully, Otakon will not be that bad.
  15. Hi All! Like the subject says! I guess it safe to say that the first wave of "mail-in" badges are already out there!
  16. Hi people! The con already had 2 presales of badges (for the "Super-Fans", and the ones who are already "Fan-verified"). I already bought my 4-day badge. The general sales are coming up next week.
  17. I think I mentioned this some time ago, but when I attended Anime-NYC, my coworkers was so sure of themselves that I was going to catch Covid. I had myself tested as soon as the news broke out and came back negative. I was already vaccinated, and kept my mask on most of the time during the con and I made sure to wash my hands everytime I went to the bathroom. I didn't really eat at the convention center since I live within walking distance, I ate at home instead.
  18. I saw how good the remastered "Project A-ko" looked during Otakon's screening last year. I'm looking at more of my stuff and there are some Blu-Rays that I regret double-dipping. Reason because the picture quality on some of them was not much better than the DVD I replaced it with.
  19. For me, "Video Girl Ai" went from an S-VHS fansub tape (if that even counts), to DVD. "Gunbuster: Aim for the Top!", I went from the original US. Renditions VHS tapes to the DVD box set that came out at around 2007.
  20. I All! I was looking at some of my video collection last night and I started to observe that I have quite a few anime series that I have in multiple formats. I still have all my Laser Discs, most of my VHS tapes, DVDs and Blu-Rays. One title that I think was the only one that I quadruple dipped was "Gunsmiths Cats". I bought it on LDs first, but the OVA series was never finished in that format (the 3rd episode was never released). So, I finished it on VHS when it came out. Then, I bought it again on DVD when it came out. I recently just got the Blu-Ray version from AnimEigo, and
  21. I think the place is now called "The Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center". That was also the time (1995), when I saw the Sony Playstation in action for the first time in the Video Game Room.
  22. I think there was also a Priss from Bubblegum Crisis, too. Too bad I was never a picture taker. The Dealer's Closet, I still have the CDs that I bought from there.
  23. Hi All! I just read this on Anime News Network. Days Inn Penn State — Home to Inaugural Otakon, Setsucon Conventions — to be Demolished - News - Anime News Network Kind of sad. Only a few of us here remembers this place.
