  1. I registered myself and Pat!
  2. Congrats on graduating! My sister graduated highschool about two weeks ago. I'm going to the beach the week of Otakon. I wasn't planning on going to Ota, but I have such fond memories of it, and I love the tingly feeling I get whenever it gets close, so I keep going back.
  3. No it's not... Woohoo! I always feel like I'm cheating when I commission an outfit. Like everyone else put so much effort into their great costume and all I did was pay someone else to do it.
  4. The Community College of Baltimore County also has an anime club on the Catonsville campus. Not sure if Essex and Dundalk do as well, but that may be another option for you when school starts back up.
  5. Hello neighbor from across the pond! -Personal Stats- Name (First name or Alias):: Lauren Age:: 23 Male or Female:: Female Do you need sleep at a con? usually, yes. Drink or smoke:: I drink socially, don't smoke. Tell us about yourself:: I'm a Baltimore native, been going to Otakon for a decade, I like some anime, but I'm more of a regular comic book fan! -Convention Stats- Do you go to panels? Depends. I haven't been to a panel since 2005, though. Do you attend the dances/raves? Yes, but only for a little bit! Do you spend any time ga
  6. Every con dream I've ever had, I always forget something in the dream. Money, luggage, costume, whatever. I always forget something.
  7. There's a liquor store I go too in Federal Hill on Charles Street, called Charles Street Liquors. There's also Federal Hill Wine and Spirits, also on Charles Street. I honestly can't think of any liquor stores in the Inner Harbor (truthfully I've never actually looked). But Federal Hill isn't much of a walk away from the BCC.
  8. I have been buying boxes of tea bags here in Japan. mugicha! <3<3 I have some rooibos and green tea. Hmm... I may buy some others too. Luckily, tea bags are pretty cheap and light! ;p Unlike the 3 bottles of ハーブ酒. With the pit viper in it of course! ;D I know this may not be the best place, but does anyone know a place to get good Belgium beer in Baltimore? Talking like imports such as Duvel or Tremens Delirium? Would be awesome if they were at a convenience store, but I doubt it. -.-
  9. Cool, cause I'd like to set up shop at Tigercon!
  10. Tyler, would you guys be open to any kind of dealers for a mini dealers room?
  11. just keep reminding yourself...its still may!
  12. If I do wind up going this year, it'll be the same every year! Going down with my boyfriend, my sister, and meeting up with some good friends!
  13. The pre-reg line is always a lot of fun! Last year my group got in line around 7pm, and we were out in about an hour I think. It's a great way to get in the spirit of things for the weekend.
  14. The Hilton will fall into the earth from an unknown sink hole that Baltimore City failed to recognize. LMAO X 1000000000. And sometimes they know about it, but just ignore it. I'm actually surprised how fast it's coming up! It seems like only yesterday that it ended.

  16. A good alternative to avoid the ever crowded 7-11 (it is indeed always crowded during Otakon. I went in there this past Saturday and I was very not used to how quickly I got in and out!) is the Safeway on Charles Street. It's a few blocks up from the con center, but it's a pretty nice food store. There's also a Whole Foods down in Harbor East, the newish high end area of Downtown Baltimore. I also urge people before the con to hop on the light rail and take it all the way to Hunt Valley where Wegmans is. I love this place so so so so so very much. They have really good sushi (well, super
  17. I only live 10 minutes away, but I'm actually going to be at the beach! If I come back early I may stop by just because it really isn't summer without Otakon.
  18. ...or the Charles Street arts district and restaurant corridor. Some good eats up there, as well as in Fells Point.
  19. Man, that really sucks, and I'm sorry that happened to you. You seem to be a lot nicer then me though, as I would have probably torn the 40+ people a new one. Doing it before the con seem's to be the best way to go. After Otakon ended last Sunday, my boyfriend and I were supposed to go to a party out in Timonium, but we were so broke we had to skip it. Plus, a lot of people usually leave early on Sunday. Having it as an official Otakon event for Thursday is a great idea though! Most people use that time to meet up with friend's anyhow, so why not meet up at a sushi place?
  20. this looks like a small independent theater. they might not show HP there. there's a Imax theater on Light St & Key Hwy... but i dunno how far from the convention center that is
  21. When I was younger, and this was the only convention I went too, I was always depressed after the con ended. Now I go to around 3-4 con's a year, so as soon as one end's, I'm already thinking and planning for the next one!
  22. My boyfriend booked a room at the new Hilton a few hours ago. Woo! This is our first time getting a hotel for Otakon, and we've been going for around 10 years now. I'm so happy!
