[Questions Regarding Elevators, Vaccination, Masks]

1. Some of the elevators (most notably the one to enter the dealer's room) do require an accessibility flag to use, so yes, your friend will need to see the member accessibility booth by registration to get one. If you go with your friend, and will be helping them at certain points, you can request a companion flag to be with them, which will allow you to join them in the elevator among other things.

2. I do know there are plans to accept at least one app, unfortunately, I do not remember which it was, so I will leave this for someone with that info.

3. As of right now, a mask will be required in any area requiring an Otakon membership to enter, except for designated eating areas. The FAQ does mention that “except for areas designated with signs”, they will be required. I do not know if these signs will be present in the photo shoot areas, but if one is not present, err with caution that masks will have to remain on. Areas outside of Otakon (such as the hotel lobby) will be subject to their own policies, though we would recommend remaining masked in any busy or crowded area outside the con. (And of course, should situations change, and DC changes policy, that would also impact us.)

At some point, I would like to go, but working in the transportation industry and this being right before Thanksgiving (one of the busiest times of the year) means I typically can’t get time off.

I’ve been binging on Ace of Diamond, myself, in between keeping up with the way too many series I'm watching. And now I get to wait for Black Clover, Idolish7, and Food Wars, so I'm getting through it even faster! Only about 40 eps to go...

Y'know, as someone who keeps saying I wants to overcome my social barrier, I really should do this.

Name: dunno. Seriously. It's what I prefer to be called.

Age: By Otakon? 30... yeah, I know, don't make me grab my cane...

Cosplaying As: If I'm approved again for this year, a gofer. My sig's still from last year...

Interests: You mean other than anime and manga? Hmm... let me get back to you on that... ==

Hobbies: Well, I would assume most things that I consider hobbies? That includes gaming, especially RPGs (both of the table and electronic varities). However, I can't really call 'cats' (not the Broadway show) a hobby...

Anything extra: I'm quite a shy person. It's one of my worst flaws. And I won't lie, it's part of what I use the internet for- to try to develop coping mechanisms for this. I've been hurt by people in the past, so I tend to keep a thick defensive eggshell-type barrier up. I'd like to think I'm a completely different person inside the shell. one who strives to be approachable and helpful. (Cons tend to put cracks in my shell, since I'm already having so much fun...)

[Why did you start attending Otakon?]

I guess my present answer would be moot, since now it is an hour drive, but for my first few Otakons, it was coming from upstate New York. I started cons as staff for Shoujocon, (There is a story there, but I won't bore you all.) and I decided I wanted something bigger. Well, I couldn't get much bigger than Otakon, so it would give me a great small con/large con contrast. (No, I am not willing to fly out to some... other con...) Of course, like the fish in the pond, I was hooked. This will be my... 5th (?) year going now, and I don't see myself stopping any time soon! I also keep saying that I'm going to volunteer to be a gofer, but there's just so much to do!
