Most looking forward to thing at Otakon 2019?

That'd be awesome! So many AMVs over the past years are terrific!

Most looking forward to thing at Otakon 2019?

Anniversary merch sounds terrific! Especially Otakon's tshirts -- I really like those. Are you thinking of making a new hat, or perhaps getting another official Otakon one? It's so hard to let go of my old tshirts -- they're so comfortable and have great memories from Otakon. Some special programming from Otakon would be really fun, maybe like videos showing bits of Otakon through the years. All the things people mentioned in Kewshi's post on 2019's festival theme sound terrific too. I really hope Otakon does what they mentioned.
  3. Am not sure if someone's already mentioned this, but, the Warner Theater (Washington DC) is going to have "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon -- The Super Live" on Sunday March 24, 2019, at 7pm. I don't know too much about Sailor Moon, but with live performers, it sure looks pretty cool! (Webpage: warnertheatredc.com)
  4. Oh ok, that's cool! I'd be going koo-koo, if I might be jobless. Hmmm, on the other hand, that'd mean I could send the ol' resume to some anime studios. Hmmm... (now THAT'S wishful dreaming)
  5. Jobless? No!!! That's awful! So many people are job hunting these days. Hang in there!
  6. I sure do hope you get to the NYC show!!! I'm saving some moolah for another con, so I'll have to skip Sailor Moon. "Resell price" -- Eeeep! lol.
  7. So terrific you're going to both locations!!! It looks awesome!!!
  8. Fathom Events is showing these two movies soon (fathomevents.com) in Nov and Dec 2018. Does anyone know if these movies are good (aka: worthwhile seeing)? They sure look great! P.S. Castle In The Sky is showing today (11/20/18).

Mirai & Pokemon The Movie: The Power of Us

Thanks! So great you saw the trailer at Anime NYC! Checked some reviews on the web today -- Mirai seems good. Checked fathom events again today too, they have two more animes coming up, "Modest Heroes" and "A Silent Voice" (both in January). So glad fathom's showing anime in the theaters. Used to have to wait forever to see any up on the big screen.
  10. Excellent points! Sadly, it does seem like it's not gonna be very cost-effective. Sure hope they figure something out. It'd be amazing to have such a high speed train available. One of those article links (I think), mentioned the train including a stop in New York -- maybe it'd be easier to get to those New York anime conventions!
  11. What a cowinkydink about the article appearing when we're discussing it! The article mentioned one of the routes under consideration would affect some residential properties. I sure hope it doesn't -- 'cause that sounds like they'd plow through some homes. (Can you imagine losing your home just because they build a road through it? It's happened before.) A link within the news article takes you to another one that discusses the budgets more. It reminds me of what you mentioned about the budgets, Fadamor. I'm really not sure if they're gonna approve this. Sure am glad I'm not in a government position -- too many major decisions.
  12. Yeah, I thought Pikachu's voice would be higher, but being a noobie to Pokémon, I wasn't sure. Still looks cute and can't wait to see the movie!
  13. Going from convention center to convention center (and the airport of course) would be so AWESOME! Seems like it'd cut down on traveling headaches and traffic. Thanks for the info! For some reason, the abbrev. SCMAGLEV reminds me of Smeagle (aka Gollum), from Lord of the Rings.
  14. Sure would be terrific if more Hollywood producers would be more faithful to the sources! I didn't see the Tomb Raider movie -- back then I wasn't sure if it'd be good. But with your recommendation, I'll be checking it out! Can't wait for May 2019 for Pokemon Detective Pikachu! May seems so far away -- hopefully the time will speed by!

    R.I.P. Stan Lee (1922-2018)

Couldn't believe it when the tv showed Stan had passed. Had heard he really cared about his fans. Daniel, I'll bet that's the most unique meeting of a star that anyone ever had! You even made Stan giggle! That's so AWESOME! I loved reading about it. R.I.P. Stan!
  16. Hey, that trailer looks great! Thanks for posting this -- I can't wait for the movie to be released.

    Man married to Hatsune Miku?!

OMG! I agree, that's taking it a bit too far. I wonder where they'll honeymoon? lol.
  18. Just a heads-up -- Brent Spiner and Marina Sirtis are scheduled to appear at Awesome Con (April 26-28, 2019) at the WEWCC. (awesome-con.com)

    Hayao Miyazaki Fans

New York Comic Con Oct 4 - 7, 2018: Anyone going?

Many thanks for the con reports! Always fun to read about other cons! Hopefully next year there'll be much less "Bads" and "Uglies." And hopefully Anime Expo NY will have a better location (if there'll be a next year for them since the number of attendees didn't seem too good).
  22. Just found out the movie is playing in limited release. Really limited -- example: it's at the Mazza Gallery theaters (Washington DC) only twice: today 9/27/18 at 7:30pm, and Sat 9/29/18 at 4pm. Didn't even know they had a movie coming out (I'm probably the last to know lol). Not sure of other places that it's playing. Hopefully, it's close to any fans!

    Any other cons...?

It's a really fun con! Whichever cons you go to, I hope you have an awesome time! And am so glad you started this thread -- I'd definitely like to check out some of the other cons people have mentioned.

    Any other cons...?

Sheesh -- how could I forget about Balticon? Was there ages ago, but usually can't fit it in the ol' budget nowadays. It's a large SciFi / Fantasy con, held at The Renaissance Hotel, at Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It'll be held in May 2019. Url: balticon.org
