  1. I'm sure not all the hotels have been added yet but I am particularly keeping an eye out for the Sheraton at the Inner Harbor...when I checked the hotel listings, there were no rooms under that hotel, so perhaps they haven't been added yet. I'm not sure how fast updates are now (but they seem pretty efficient to me), though if anyone gets word of that hotel being added, mind dropping me a line? (I know, it's like a shot in the dark.)
  2. Well, all things considered, I think I have enough money this year to do three cosplays! [ ALL RIGHT! ] So far, my decisions are as follows: Friday Morning: K` [ King of Fighters ] Evening: Keigo [ FLOW ] Saturday Ichimaru Gin [ BLEACH ] We're also doing the STAY AWAY dance, and we're probably going to dress up in Japanese school outfits, so that'll be cool.
  3. See, my friends and I are attempting to work out some sort of system for this hotel business. Because by the time they announce dates for the next Otakon, the cheapest hotels are already gone. Granted, I can drive, I still don't want to waste gas going somewhere that I can get to in less than 3 minutes. If we do get this system worked out, I'll be sure to let you know. =D
  4. Well, this'll be my second time going to Otakon, and last year, I noticed that the Dealer's Room had nothing of particular interest. I got one sword, which I bought on the last day for $15. And that was it. Other than that, I spent nothing, save for $3 on some FFVII & Kingdom Hearts fanart. I paid nothing for my hotel (family essentially gave me the cash for it) and so majority of my money went to food. I'm glad things worked out like that last year, considering I'd gone to Japan a few weeks before. However, I don't think that'll be the case this year, so I'm gonna actually look
  5. Well, I'm honestly a bit depressed. Because as soon as I reach my house, reality smacks me in the face with a sack full of bricks. And what's worse, we've got to start planning for the next Otakon, and by the time we all get back home, log on to our computers, and get to the hotel site, we find out that the cheapest ones are gone. But we muddle through! All in all, it's like a feeling that sticks with you and grows, once the New Year hits, I literally start counting down till I can get back down to the Convention Center.
  6. I'm sure it'll be out by next year...and noting those crazy kids around the net, it'll probably be subbed and everything, but I recommend Dororo, the Live Action movie. It came out rather recently (May or April of 2007 I believe) and I saw it on the plane to Japan...it was really good.
  7. I cried at the end of Kikaider... I was 12 (or 13) when I caught the last episode in Florida, and it made me kind of sad... That and the death of Maes Hughes
  8. Since we're talking limitless budget here...that leaves me lots of possibilities. My first choice would most likely be... Komamura's Bankai. I'm sure that in itself would cost a crapload of cash...the rest of which I'd probably lose somewhere...
  9. Well, I was actually hoping that I could get my hands on some decent Japanese games...preferrably BLEACH 4: Heat The Soul... I've got the data sitting on my PSP with no way to play it. I've already got one sword, and I'm wondering if I could get a wakizashi or tachi to go along with it... Good things do come in pairs after all. Though, one thing I don't remember catching a glimpse of are movies. With this being my first Otakon and all, are they that scarce? I mean, I was hoping to get my hands on a copy of the live action Prince of Tennis movie... And CDs...as most have stated, th
  10. Well, that would definitely put my girlfriend on edge... She's severely over protective...but then again, I guess that's the mindset of people nowadays, you do something nice for a female, and everyone thinks you're trying to get something out of it. Can't a guy just be nice with no repercussions? But yes, we're trying to cut down on the cost as much as possible...and we're most likely getting a suite (again, connections help a lot) so we'll hopefully have room to fit everyone... But enough of that.
  11. Well, I've already got like...7 roommates, and only six of us are paying (one's female, and I told her that I'd cover the hotel cost for her...chivalry ain't dead!) But as stated earlier, the Wyndham is my choice for hotel staying. They've got a grand piano right next to the elevator, so I just go there to jam out. And going on pricing last year (145 a night for the Wyndham) I believe that we'll actually save enough to do something extra! =D (We're staying from Thursday to Sunday I believe...or Friday to Monday).
  12. Not to interrupt the riveting conversation going on here... But I'm staying at the Wyndam (I refuse to call it the Sheraton...since there's like 50 of those around now...). I stayed there last year and it was pretty nice, and what's more my mom knows the manager! =D Discounts galore! (Last year we got free breakfast).
