  1. This was one of the best things (if not the best) that came out of the Anime Expo this season. As for when things are coming out: The following are being released as boxsets: -August- Paradise Kiss (PK) -September- Rozen Maiden (RM) Kamichu! (KCU) Fate/stay night (FSN) Shana (SHA) Sea.1 The following shows will have their singles rereleased: -August- Black Lagoon (BL) Sea.1 Elemental Gelade (EG) -September- Kyo Kara Maoh! (KKM) Sea.2 Hellsing (HLS) Ultimate When They Cry [Higurashi] (HGR) Karin (KRN) These titles are being resumed first
  2. Let's see... My trusty red Nintendo DS, with Pokemon D&P, Puzzle Quest, and maybe Luminous Arc and/or Summon Night Twin Age Radio/MP3 player...you never know when SEVERE weather will strike. My also trusty digital camera. I'm getting more space for this sucker. My portfolio...I luv drawing orig. stuff. Breakfast food. That's pretty much it. My plans though seem to lean toward the Thursday pickup this meeting because for only the 2nd time I have that option.
  3. Uuu, let's get back to the topic here. Anyway, there's a further complication now as their PiQ mag, the one that unfortunately replaced the Newtype USA mags, has shut down as of thi9s weekend. Quite unfortunate, and this will also affect just what ADV will do next in the coming weeks. Alabaster: I'm with you on CPM, and the same could be said for ADV too. I just don't like how most fans and whatnot will immediately react in such way when [sample] announcement causes them grief.
  4. As I understand from sources of mine, ADV has 2 panels scheduled for the 'Expo, so I'm not worried about them showing up in Baltimore. Besides, Matt Greenfield is a native of this state.
  5. All I need is enough food and drink in the tank and a predetermined amount of $$$ in the Otafund and I'm ready to go! One thing I do recommend to all of you is patience. One of the things I avoided at prior Otakons (since the tenth anniversary Otakon) is waiting in the lines of the Dealer's Room, The Alley, and the Gaming Hall, mainly because there's so much other things to look at as well as all the cosplayers/crossplayers roaming around, and I don't need to spend hours doing nothing in the morning. Uguu.
  6. AS some of you Otakon Goers are awere of, Funimation has had another big licensing spree over this week. The titles that were bought were: Mamoette Lolipop (MML), - Save Me! Lolipop Shijo Saikyo no Deshi Kenichi (KNI) - Kenichi Gunslinger Girl 2 (GGL) Strain (STN) Shigurui (SGU) ...and announced today at Anime Central... D.Gray Man (DGM) Romeo x Juliet (RXJ) (The abbreviations are thy personal indexing system codes) Wow, and if I'm not mistakened, there was supposed to be some other big announcement on Monday to cap off the madness. Of all this stuff they'v
  7. Hmm, I wouldn't say late July so quickly...I looked at their PR and it doesn't give any indication of a completion date, but yeah, this could be a problem come the Artscape and Otakon weekends. Thankfully, I don't have to take the Light Rail every day to get to and from college, but I usually take it to and from the City. While on the subject, please be aware that several MTA buses may have route changes coming this summer as well, including combining the M3 and M8 into a new #54 line, splitting the M10 into the #58 and #60 lines, and adding a new stop to all Jumpers Hole #14 buses at th
  8. At 3 pm today, the folke in Iowa announced all three seasons and OAVs of ARIA. They will be available beginning Sept 30 with Season 1 (SUB ONLY) for $50 More details at the link below. Aria Webpage Iowa disapointed me again, uguu.
  9. I was just posting about it on the AoD BBS, and I like it too. It looks as if they'll be updating the programming schedule in real-time as well! The one thing the planner really does for me is show which Dealers Room vendors are in which space(s) ahead of time, and that can be important (to some otaku).
  10. I just had to join in...One of the things I love and look forward to every Otakon meeting is the wide variety of cosplays. Yes, there may be an overrun of Shonen Jump brand cosplayers out there, but that's partly due to all the meetups and panels featuring those properties. While I'm at it, I'm also glad there is more of a lolita (as in fashion) presence the past couple of years and those panels last year gave a lot of good info, so expect more frilliness to offset the mainstream cosplays, hehe. More later.
  11. Ah, I allocate anywhere between $200 and $300 for the con. That does not include transportation, but does include food and Dealers Room shopping. I actually didn't get to spend all of it this year becasue most vedors hadn't restocked their goods after the Expo and Comic Con, and I couldn't get a certain Bouso Shinki figure that I wanted badly! Other than that, that's all.
  12. Sad thing is...I've only been able to get to the Thursday Pre-Reg one time, and that was in the '04 Otakon. I'll try to be there on the Thursday before the evening rush starts so I can get in and get out! On con days, it's a 6 am wake-up time each day and since I'm close by, I can get there around 8 am. Because I'm not a night owl type of person, I leave between 9 and 10 pm Fri & Sat, and stay around until close on Sunday. I mention this because last year I recall there were long lines Thursday as early as 11 am, and on Friday morning as early as 5 am. best of luck for y'all o
