So I've decided to cosplay as Jiraiya this year however I have no prior experience whatsoever with cosplaying or making a costume.

I thought about maybe purchasing one but all the ones I found were exorbitantly priced, so would anyone know where I should begin in my quest to achieve Jiraiya-ness by the time Aug. 8th comes along?

It's easy to learn how to push a needle with some thread tied to it into fabric, but there's a lot of work that goes into the prep and making the final product look presentable.

I'd look into buying the pieces for the costume, if I were you. It's more expensive than making it yourself but it's a lot quicker and you don't have to learn how to sew.

One thing you can do, if you don't know how to sew, you can go out to goodwill or a salvation army and modify clothing.
