Costume help needed

I'm planning to cosplay as a Foot ninja from the 2003 TMNT cartoon. Thing is I'm not sure where to look for materials or a Bo staff. Anyone in the Maryland/DC area, your help would be appreciated.

Here's a place where you can get the bo staff, if you want to shop online. I don't know too many brick and mortar stores in the area that sell that kind of stuff though.

If you have a yard with trees, go outside and find a nice, straight, slender one that's at least as tall as you are.

And chop it down, peel the bark, sand it smooth (it's a labor of love).

It sounds silly, but my dad made a bunch of them when I was little and they all looked awesome.

If you're not sure how to go about it, there's probably a book about bo staves in your local library.
