All this hassel about finding a close hotel was killing me for the last couple of weeks.

I'm one of those people who are like.. meh ill book the hotel tomorrow.

Well tomorrow turns into 3 months and wouldnt you know it... BAMM all the hotels really close to BCC are gone.

So here is my solution to all of you who are like me... DON'T WALK FAR.. TAKE THE LIGHT RAIL :)

If you can find a hotel in the outer limits of Baltimore thats adjacent or within a few minute walk to the light rail its an amazing deal

Also if you have trouble finding one i suggest the Sleep Inn & Suites Airport at 6055 Belle Grove Rd , Baltimore, MD

Its a couple miles south of BCC but the light rail station isnt even 1/2 KM away XD (About .2 Miles for all you non-metric people lol)

Heres the website - http://www.sleepinn.com/ires/en-US/html/Ho...nfo?hotel=MD128

I got a room that fits 7 people and it cost me roughly $350

Figuring how many people are going splitting up the price im paying like 80 Dollars XD its amazing

Anyways now that im done rambling on about my find its time to get to the real reason i'm doing this.

Im interested in what the deals you all have found for hotels... I mean face it Hotels are the best place to be when your not at the Con

So what all have you people found and what all do you do to keep you entertained while your not in the Con

this year i decided to do what the crazy fanboys/fangirls do [lol] and call the local hotels like a psycho and book the next available hotel. this happened in august/september and even then most of the stuff was already booked. but i was still able to get a doubel in the days inn [right across the street from the BCC].

but my first 2 years at otakon in 01 and 02 I didnt know about the hotel madness and would book a room at the amerisuites near BWI. it was very cheap and the rooms were very nice and large and all of them came with a sleeper sofa. you also got free breakfast and free shuttle services. me and my group would take the hotel stuff to BWI and then the lightrail to the con - and this didnt take very long either.

however the downside is coming back. the lightrail stops at a certain time and we all know otakon's fun doesn't stop until after hours. so we would miss the light rail and take a taxi back to the hotel - which is needless to say, expensive. i dunno, to some it might be worth it.

i would actually prefer to stay in that hotel again simply because it was cheap and you got a lot for your money.... but as far as convienience you cant beat the days inn which is right across the street. i would rather pay a little extra for that.

anyway i would reconmend the amerisuites hotel, or any of the hotels within the hotel complex near the BWI airport - if you dont have a chance of getting a room in the inner harbor. just remember that if you're gonna stay late it's harder to get back to your hotel if you dont have a car.

This is why i love having a car.. I ride the light rail out of town when its about to close and just hop in my Ford Escort and roll back on up to the Con. Its what i do for the rave type thing... XD its always fun. And pluse there is a parking garage under the one mall near the BCC which normally fills up but its big so theres always a chance there will be an open parking space.. Its also a great deal on the cost.. I live in gettysburg and get ripped off by the parking garages here lol
