Issue with badge activation?

I just got an email this afternoon from support@showclix.com that tells me there's been an issue with the badges I activated, and I have to take them to Badge Services. Any idea what might have happened, when I received a message of 'Otakon Badge Activation Successful!' in my Inbox several weeks ago? Is this something unique / common, or is it a mistake, or what?

Any ideas?
