Kotori 6 Posted June 22, 2020 Report Share Posted June 22, 2020 (edited) I've been constantly refreshing and checking since 8:59 and it never showed up. I also saw the Courtyard, Embassy Suites, and another hotel pop up briefly. I have two tabs up (one signed in and one not) and am getting 2 different hotel lists currently. Edit; As of 9:11 it was available and I have reserved! I do want to note that it did not show up for my signed in account at first, so if it still isn't showing up for someone, please try a different tab, not signed in! Went from available to sold out before I even finished my first room reservation =P Edit: I stuck with it and kept updating the search results, and the Marquis popped up again! Between 8:55 and 9:13 the list of available hotels kept jumping between a low of 8 and a high of (I think) 11 that changed every time I refreshed the page (cough*every few seconds*cough). I was already in the system (having booked originally at the Renaissance, then the Hampton when it became available), so I just had to click on the previously entered data to complete the process. (Whether that made a difference in booking speed, I can't say.) I was lucky after the fact, as less than 5 minutes after I got the confirmation, my boss came in the room to go over something with me. He probably wouldn't have dinged me for doing the booking, but I'm not going to test that hypothesis. I wonder if the Marriott is going to have the stuff available next year that was promised this year: Though obviously they wouldn't keep the snacks. (Mind you, if it was stored properly, and I were hungry enough... The wording of the twitter announcement last week kind of made it seem like the Marriott was only available for the show dates, 8/6 to 8/8, and I was able to book a room there for Thursday to Sunday. I was hoping to stay through Monday, but Experient is saying that final night, 8/8, is waitlisted- is that because Otakon wasn't able to secure convention-rate rooms for that night, or did I just miss them all? The good news is that in general the waitlisted rooms almost always get confirmed once they clean up glitches and duplicate reservations out of their system. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
