7-Eleven has opened what seems to be the future of US 7-Eleven stores in Washington D.C. that's open 24/7 and is within close walking distance from the Mount Vernon Place entrance of the convention center.

I have found something that I consider to be pretty interesting and would like to share it.

7-Eleven has opened what seems to be the future of US 7-Eleven stores in Washington D.C. that's open 24/7 and is within very close walking distance from the Mount Vernon Place entrance of the convention center.

The newest stores that 7-Eleven is opening in the US are being referred to as "evolution stores." These stores are much larger in size than the typical US 7-Eleven store and it seems like 7-Eleven is attempting to change publicly what 7-Eleven is typically associated with selling by using these evolution stores to sell products that is not seen in a typical US 7-Eleven store.

The D.C. evolution store is located at 504 K Street NW: 504 K STREET NW in WASHINGTON, DC | 7-Eleven

The store description states that it has a in-store Mexican restaurant that sells "authentic tacos served on handmade flour tortillas that are made from scratch in on-site kitchens every day" and the food items sold by this in-store Mexican restaurant are "authentic barbacoa, chorizo, carne asada, carnitas, breakfast tacos made with freshly cracked eggs, and the newest item on the menu, protein-packed bowls."

This 7-Eleven also has a wider range of beverages than can be found in a typical US 7-Eleven as well, according to the store description, this 7-Eleven sells "made-to-order specialty coffee drinks that give you the option to customize your drinks: choose from hot coffee drinks like flavored lattes, mochas and more as well as custom cold drinks like iced coffee, cold brew coffee, cold-pressed juices, smoothies and agua frescas. You can also purchase soft serve ice cream, and organic Slurpee flavors (for the health conscious)."

According to this 2020 7-Eleven press release, the D.C. evolution store opened just last year in early 2020: Wednesday, February 26, 2020 PR: 7-Eleven Expands Evolution Store Concept to Washington, D.C. and San Diego

And 7-Eleven states in this 2021 press release from April that there are currently 7 evolution stores open in the US and they plan to open more evolution stores during this year. The latest 7-Eleven evolution store that opened in Prosper, Texas sells makeup and skincare products, what 7-Eleven calls a "stocked" wine cellar and beer cooler, cigars stored in an actual humidor and even "artisan craft sodas": Friday, April 09, 2021 PR: Latest 7-Eleven Evolution Store Opens in Prosper, Texas

From reading that 2021 press release, it certainly seems like 7-Eleven is positioning these evolution stores to be a representation of what the future of US 7-Eleven stores will be like, much larger in size and has a much wider product selection than a typical US 7-Eleven.
