Daniel Perales 91
Hi All! I know that Anime-NYC was held about 2 weeks ago. I was so busy at work and other things that I didn't have the time to put down my quick impression of it. This will be short. The Good: I haven't encountered any huge lines this year. Some of the big industry people came back with their huge booths in the Dealer's Room. Got to meet some old friends that I haven't seen in years. Able to go to most of the panels and screenings I wanted to attend. The Bad: Even though having to wear a mask was a policy at the con, the enforcement was almost nonexistence. The Ugly: Not the con's fault, but it was really cold and windy (especially in the Hudos Yards area) outside when I had to walk to the con and back home. I've saw an article that the con's attendance was a bit up this year (55k compared to 53k last year), but the numbers were intentionally kept to that limit. They wanted to make sure to avoid the crowd problem they had last year. They already mention next year's date and they also mentioned that they want to be able to get more space at the Javis and also have some events going on in other venues outside the convention center. Honestly, I rather have everything under one roof, but that's just me. Overall, I had a good time. Here's hoping others did too.
