Orientation Meetings

I got approved to be a gofer this year and I wanted to know if I attended an orientation meeting in the afternoon would I be allowed to gofer directly after? 
 

Also wanted to know how long orientation will be? 

ex: I attend Thursday evening gofer orientation and could be able to help directly after.

I read in the FAQ that we should expect it to be 2 hours long.
