I do think the sentai team is cute - I wonder who maps to which role in the 'Five Man Band'. (Warning - TV Tropes link. Use at your own risk. 😆) Did they do the 2 different entrances to the WEWCC (bags / props and no bags / props) previously? I've been lucky to get the Mariiott before, so I never really take the main doors. This year I may have to, as I'm staying at the Hampton Inn. I am curious if the '30 Year Exhibition' will replace the Ota Museum this year. I donated a bunch of different things over the years, and I'd be curious to see if they'll be there. T minus 31 and counting... I can't wait!  Edit to add: It may be a few days until the new page opens. The same thing happened last year - we tried to activate badges but it wouldn't accept. Zeeba Neighba 25 Posted July 1 Report Share Posted July 1 OK, I did manage to find the activation page for this year's Otakon: In Otakon's activation page, I clicked on the link, it sent me to the activation page for last year's con. I then moved my cursor to the URL and changed the "3" in 2023 to a "4", and it sent me to the activation page for this year. That's the good news. The bad news: I typed in the activation code underneath my badge's QR code as requested and then clicked on the "LOOKUP" button, only to get the error message "We could not find that membership. Â Not sure of the 2 entrances, the maps don't appear yet on the webpage. Am pretty sure you can still use the Marriott to get into the WEWCC, even if you don't have a room at the hotel. My badge would be considered a lucky one in certain cultures - it has five 8s in it. Maybe I can get a lottery ticket that weekend. As for entrances, I know I can use the Marriott one, I'm just not sure if the time it takes to get over there isn't cancelled out by time waiting at the main entrance line. Time will tell. Also, the '2 Entrances' bit I posted was from the mini-map they sent w/ the badges. The reason I wasn't sure if this was done last year was a) I was in the Marriott, and b) I took a photo of a cosplayer who said they gave their props to friends while they went in the Marriott entrance with no items. (They had an elaborate costume and needed to get out of the heat.) Sounds to me like it wasn't done last year, but I can't say definitively. Â They did do the two separate entry lines at the main entrance last year, but only when there were lines. I'd say about half the time people could just walk right in without waiting in any line (obviously not around when they open). It was really handy for me since I didn't have any bags or props, I could get in a lot quicker. Â I'm really intrigued by the 30 year exhibition, the space is A LOT bigger than what the museum usually has, so I assume the exhibition will be greater. Â Can anyone read what's written on the VHS tapes that Crabby and Ace are holding? Crabby's is Japanese. I think Ace's is English, but with the lenticular badge I can't read it.
