Some costume questions

I'm sorry if these questions have already been adressed elsewhere. I've been looking and haven't found it yet, and well, have some problems with ADHD ( for REAL unlike so many people that use it as an excuse...) so i'm a bit tired of looking.

I've been in the masquerade before ( my group placed third, my group won third, when most of us had never been in a masquerade before, we had awesome sound, and even, as far as I know, set a con precident by having a two parter skit. Anyway, the longer I prattle on the longer it will take for me to get to my point. I've never been in the costume contest before. I'm not exactly sure where I go, or when, and how it works. I'm sure some of this has been adressed elsewhere, I'm sorry if there's an easier place to find the information by asking, but I'm not all that good with someone else's directions.

Which Costume contest? I don't know much about the Walk on that is durring the masquerade, But I do know about the Hall contest.

as for where and when we don't know yet ( other than friday and saturday for Hall) but how it woks is pretty easy.

All I know about the Masq. is that you line up outside the doors ( ok thats the start and finish of my knowledge)

for the Hall contest - there is a pre-reg online ( eventuly , as it's not up yet) where you fill out a form about your outfit and charater and you. ( i think it's the same form for the open slots at the convention)

then when you go to be judged you get a nice tag with a time. when it's your turn you explain your outfit to the nice judges( how it was made amoung other things , they will ask questions) and thats all ^^

Ok guys, let me clear up a few things while every mixes and matches contest names again:

There are three costume-related contests: Masquerade, the Friday Hall Costume Contest, and the Saturday Hall Costume Contest.

There is no such thing, at Otakon at least, as the Walk-on, the Cosplay, the Cosplay Masquerade, the Hall Cosplay Masquerade, the Cosplay-Masq. Walkerade, or anything that doesn't use the terms in bold in that exact word order.

The catwalk you see during the Masquerade is a component of the Saturday Hall Costume Contest.

Please refer to those three contest as such so that we can actually answer your question, rather than sit at our workstations and scratch our heads repeatedly.

The only information currently posted on the Otakon website is for the Masquerade. Since I only coordinate the Masquerade, I cannot answer any questions regarding either Hall Costume Contest. Please use the contacts page on the Otakon website to direct your Hall Costume Contest questions to the Hall Costume Contest coordinator.
