Everyone is entitled to mention who they want to request, people don't really need to argue for/against other people's suggestions. This is just a suggestions thread If you do not like another person's suggestion, do not need to argue or counter point on here. That would be going off topic I personally would like to meet Danny Choo =P Creator of the Smart Dolls and also one of the first Jpn focused blogs i have followed for many years =P

I would love to see Erica Mendez!! She is extremely talented and I enjoy her work such as Emma (Promise Neverland), Retsuko (Aggretsuko) and many more! This is my first time attending Otakon too!

People have brought this up over and over. Many many people, including myself, don’t want him there. Inviting him would show a lack of concern for what he’s done to fans over the last 16-some years and what he’s alleged to have done to peers and others. Considering Mignogna is not in anything anymore, and likely never will be, there’s no reason to invite him anyway.

Ooooh, Ryuko Matoi? Is there a GameStop in the general area for those who need to get a copy of Kill La Kill: IF that weekend? Oh, and I have another addendum to my list: Kenji Ohtsuki. I don't think he's EVER been to the US, has he?

As cool of an idea that would be when you consider some of the wrestling events that were close to Otakon in the past (heck, in 2005, some Otakon attendees could have easily gotten on the beltway to attend Summerslam in DC), there's still a number of roadblocks standing in the way of this idea. The biggest one of all: most of the top Japanese stars will not be available due to the G1 Climax.

Please bring Vic Mignogna to otakon this year.

It's always talk talk talk, planning planning planning. Even if the city is willing to pay its share of the planning and design, actually doing the work will cost a whole lot of money and Baltimore has plenty of other ways that that money could better be spent.

Trying to get Elizabeth Maxwell to say Albedo's line "I don't even talk to anyone, who am I supposed to have sex with?!?" ...it's worth a shot...

OKAY. I'm going to quote myself. There are cons he WILL be that, if you want to go and see him. Other than that.... wait for all the legal issues to clear up, and see what happens. To be fair, the poster above me made a well-written, passionate post. Kudos for that. Still, on Vic -- AGAIN: he's probably not coming back to Ota any time soon. Let's move on, shall we? Getting back on subject, how about some more classic VAs? Like Rachael Lillis or someone like that.

PREFERRED NAME: GasparHOMETOWN: Boston, MA# OF OTAKONS ATTENDED: with 2019 included it'll be 11The BONUS ? for 2019: Since 2016 I've been cosplaying a Genderbent Senbonzakura Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid (original female version is my avatar), but starting in 2018 with Anime Boston I've also added a semi-genderbent Street Pop Hatsune Miku (an obscure outfit/module from the Hatsune Miku Project Diva F2nd song "Kagerou Days" or "Heat Haze Days"). I say "semi" because in the PV of the song Miku is technically dressed as guy, but I'll leave that up to your imagination to determine. My SenBon Miku has been misidentified as a "Kawaii M Bison" from Street Fighter, and as hilariously wrong as that is I take that in stride. No one has guessed or even cared about my Street Pop Miku though.... I hereby challenge the Otakon population to guess it correctly, but if you don't, that's okay. Cosplaying obscure versions of characters / obscure characters altogether is also part of the fun.

With all due respect Something Clever, Gaspar and Sozuke did nothing wrong. Stop acting like a "wanna-be" mod. The way you're responding to this is no less than trolling.

Why are you assuming that person is a troll? I simply informed them that it wouldn't work... No need to get the mods in here for that reason...

The last thread got autoarchived again, but a lot of things have happened since the last one, so here we go again! Let me break down what I know: GamePlay (Marley Station Mall, Glen Burnie, MD): current lineup is: jubeat (NEW!) DDR (recently refurbished) beatmania IIDX (refurbished late 2016) pop'n music DrumMania In The Groove Marvel vs. Capcom 2 The Simpsons Various redemption games re:gen (White Marsh Mall, White Marsh, MD): a used video game store. Recently lost their jubeat, but has added a Naomi Universal cabinet that they intend to rotate games in. Save Point (Townmall of Westminster, Westminster, MD): a used video game store. Has an ever-rotating selection of games and various pinball machines. I haven't been in a while and the game selection changes rapidly due to the number of events they bring games to, so I honestly can't tell you what's in the store right now. The Cave Gaming Center (Fairfax, VA): a 24 hour LAN gaming center located in the interior of a largely open-air shopping center. They recently added a bunch of arcade music games: jubeat beatmania IIDX pop'n music BeatStream SOUND VOLTEX Round1 (Exton Square Mall, Exton, PA): just recently opened and has way more games than I can list in this space. Standouts include Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone, Theatrhythm All-Star Carnival, Groove Coaster, CROSSxBEATS, Gunslinger Stratos, and should soon receive Maximum Tune 5. Got a hot arcade spot nearby I missed? Let everyone know here!

I would like Otakon to have a full page picture of all the t-shirts designs from 1994 to present on their "Anniversary Con Book". Also, let the con book have pictures and other info on what was it's highlights for each particular years.

Conspiracy theories start because there's fishy stuff going on. Stuff that should be discussed. Not silenced.

Have you seen what Marchi has been saying on twitter? Because I never once said their personal experiences were loony as you seem to think. Or is the only thing you've seen from her, her story? Bottom line is that there have been quite a few professionals out there who have been acting less than professional in their behavior and that's pretty undeniable. Yes, I don't particularly like when a discussion board censors discussion, no crime in that.

You're right I should have just said I disagree with the way some professionals have been presenting themselves in their posts.

At this point I am pretty sure Vic probably did somethings, but I doubt he did everything he's being accused of. A lot of stuff from the Funi staff seems fishy and very suspect, especially that fake swatting crap that really derailed any credibility they had. Monica, Jamie, Sean acting loony on twitter, Samantha faking a swatting, people writing the io9 article being friends with Samantha on facebook, ANN censoring comment sections heavily, so on and so forth. To me, it certainly could be plausible that this is an agenda. It could also be completely valid. At the very minimum a lot of people involved have been acting very unprofessionally with their social media accounts.

To whom it may concern, I have been attending your conventions for 2 years now and I have enjoyed meeting many guests, thanks to you. I would like to strongly suggest that you consider inviting Mr. Vic Mignogna to your convention. Although there is a controversy surrounding his name, the claims made against him are currently unsubstantiated. I have enjoyed Mr. Mignogna's work for many years now and it is quite easy to see how he became one of the most prolific names in the voice acting game. While there is no evidence to support these claims, there is a wealth of evidence that has displayed Mr. Mignogna's passion for his work, his kindness towards his fans, and his dedication to both anime and the convention scene. In this country, many of us support the right to due process, which ensures that an individual is given the right to be viewed in a court of law before being judged preemptively. No matter what sort of political leanings we have, this principle is an important one for many millions of people across the world. I would like it if the conventions kept as open a mind as us con-goers and fans have. It would truly be sad to see a convention that I have loved attending refuse an invitation for one of my favorite voice actors, simply because they chose to believe the court of public opinion over one of this country's most valued principles. While many of Vic's contemporaries (primarily his accusers) have taken to social media in attempts to harass, intimidate, and demonize those who disagree with them, Vic has remained quiet and refused to fuel the fire further, seeking counsel and legal advice for the harassment he has endured over the past month. Meanwhile, his contemporaries have made veiled threats to fans of theirs that held opinions of their own on the matter. Threats were made to involve legal entities or government agencies such as the FBI or Homeland Security, while one voice actress even used her social media account to "like" a handful of posts that wished for the death of fans that didn't agree with her. I must respectfully state that if you choose not to extend an invitation to Mr. Mignogna, I will be very disappointed and I will not patronize your conventions in the future. I believe in every person's right to due process and I have decided that I do not want to support a convention or organization that has chosen to deny Mr. Mignogna - or any guest, for that matter - this right. I implore you to consider inviting him and showing the dedicated fans that you, also, uphold this unalienable right. I eagerly await your response. Ultimately, conventions are for coming together as a community and celebrating anime and other parts of Asian pop culture, as per the purpose of Otakon. I truly hope that you will consider this request. Thank you for your consideration.
